How is Greg Olsen on the Fox 1 team?

I'm not sure if it's just me or if anyone else noticed how much this broadcast group kept driving the point that Dallas was benefiting from calls? How these 2 are Fox's #1 group is beyond me.
I tune them out and just watch the game

I like Greg Olsen. Think he has gotten better, and daresay sometimes provides better insight than Aikman.

I appreciate having a TE. Someone in the trenches. They look at the game different than the QB commentators.
Anything is better than these old QBs repeatedly telling us that the entire league is controlled by QBs and that any game where they don't throw it 100 times between the two QBs isn't worth watching.

He kinda inherited the spot when ESPN snagged Aikman and Buck for MNF. He is not bad but I think fox is needing an infusion of talent.
That’s what I was going to say.

FOX took a big hit on their announcers roster. And the fact that this is the best they can do speaks volumes and shows how far they’ve fallen.

They're easily my favorite on Fox and Olsen is much better than Romo as a color analyst. It's not even close.

I don’t get it either because Moose is far better. I think they just wanted a younger guy maybe his spot is being held for a younger guy who’s going to retire but yeah he’s not bad just not good. Sometimes even a chore to listen to.

I’m really shocked Jonathan Vilma isn’t higher up I couldn’t stand him as a player but he sounds good when I hear him.
Agree with you on Vilma. He's really good.

I agree with you. I like Moose much better....and not just because he's an ex Dallas player. He's very smart and I think provides good analysis.
Yeah Moose is the best ex Cowboy to me. Well he and Romo. But Moose has managed to balance how to speak objectively without sounding like a homer. It’s tough I know. Moose should be higher on the pecking order.

That's a game-changing call though, and a flag that they should absolutely never throw.
It was a bad one I agree, but in a 20+ point game I can’t say it was a game changing call. Momentum is a real thing but a good team can overcome a bad call that early in the game.

On the illegal contact against Ceedee he literally wouldn't shut up about it for like 5 minutes, he even asked Dean Blandino.
I like Greg Olsen but he went a bit overboard about those two calls. One was illegal contact and he hit him after 5 yards - there is no disputing it. It happens all the time and does not get called. The other was a pull on the Jersey and also happens all the time and does not get called.

Cry me a river says Micah Parsons and getting hooked around the neck!

we all saw the bias. It was frankly, ridiculous and obvious. He didnt try to hide his disdain for Dallas. Then he never knows when 2 stop beating a dead horse. We don't need a Devry professor type of NFL 101 class when we watch games, we just need u to call the game dude. Greg wants to be the smartest guy in the room and those are the most tiresome kind of game announcers'.

If the call & non call had been reversed, this board would be full of people saying the Cowboys got screwed.

If one of those should have been called, both of them should have.

I don't think it's a bad thing for announcers to point out bad \ inconsistent officiating or rules. It puts the league on notice in a very public way that "we can see" what is happening. The repeated exposure is finally what got the "catch" rules restored to some semblance of sanity even though the league really didn't want to.

Blandino is an east coast wonk. On the pass interference call he said he didn't like the call, and then explained why it was called correctly to the letter of the rule.

He is and it pains me to say I can’t stand the guy but he’s damn good on TV. We rarely get him for our games I guess because he’s not on the A team.
Yeah Vilma is really good.. Ironically I think he and Olsen were teammates at The U weren't they? I generally don't pay much attention to the announcers though.. They neither add to nor subtract from my enjoyment of the game. John Madden was the last guy who added to my enjoyment when watching a game. And we will probably never again see his like.

exactly. He was hooked/headlocked so bad but it wasnt even called and where was Greg yelling and dissecting the miss call? He was dead silent. Agenda confirmed.

I usually mute it when I think Greg is being ridiculous. This time I just wanted 2 hear him show his arse.

You should have heard Romo gushing over Purdy after every pass in the 49ers cincy game.....that was pathetic

He did the first couple mins, but after that he piped it down. GO is really good at his job.
Couple of minutes. Try all quarter long. Then he brought it up again in the 2nd quarter. He left it go in the 2nd half.
Someone must have told him to stop.

Why is that not a good honest explanation?
