During the Giants game, Olsen did a replay analysis on a throw. He showed that Dallas ran a combination route with one deep guy and one short route. When the defender stepped up, Dak went deep. A lot of the other analysis videos show Dallas running these layered patterns.

I wonder if the offense changed or if Dak just got more comfortable with the deep throws. To his credit, these deep throws are frequently covered 1 on 1 and he is just putting the ball right where it has to be.

The offense is definitely much improved since the beginning of the season. Some of it is play design, like the fast motion. Some of it is Dak using his feet. I suspect that some of it is just Dak getting more comfortable with the reads.
Happens when Coach Jones laid into McCarthy to FREE DAK!!

I wonder if those numbers will change once the competitive part of the schedule starts?

So far...he's done well racking up stats against doormat teams..... but he always wilts against strong teams.

We will see
We all got a taste in the Eagles game when DAKCHOKA made his presence in grand fashion against an Eagles secondary who even the D.C. QB lit up and is ranked 28th in pass defense.
He CHOKED when it mattered in the game.......... oops out of bounds........ oops 1st and goal to go from the 6 to win the game........ oops massive SACK.
Hope I'm wrong but a leopard doesn't change his spots do they now???

Not a hater or lover, but only hope that Dak's current success will follow him to a Superbowl Championship!

That said, I've been beaten into a realist...

I love this analytics chum that is being thrown out for homers to binge on.

Lies, Damned Lies and Statistics.

In reality: He lost to the Eagles and to the 49ers. In one he choked and the other he stunk.

No one gets hired to a job because they can do it once or twice. It's when you can be called upon on-demand, under duress and in anger that this would mean something. Does anyone believe that this is the "real" Dak?

I don't. I hope so...but I don't.

I’m getting a feeling some of the Dakstractors are hiding behind complementary comments. As I’m reading the posts it’s kinda fun to try and figure you out.. lol.

Not sure the conservative passing offense is a thing of the past yet but if Dak remains empowered through some tougher opponents, then I will be sold.

Coach Mac is very capable of misplacing his spine to try to eke out a victory.

The Washington quarterback, Sam Howell, leads the league in passing yards

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but the Cowboys have played some not so good pass defenses these last four games. Dak needs to show better consistency around tougher defenses and a zone scheme.

Dak has played well this season so im a happy fan. He just stunk vs the 49ers.
He stunk and the whole team sucked. But the coaches sucked the most. That was an embarrassment on how they got the team prepared for that game. Total embarrassment.

Teams with better defenses are harder to score on and require a higher level of focus and execution at all positions not just QB. Coaching included.

Top 5 in the league, thank you much.
In certain statistical categories of varying importance from a purely numbers vantage point in a vacuum isolated from his history in big games ...I COULDN'T AGREE MORE!

The fact that people can sit here and make post after post about Dak not being good enough is unexplainable to me ....though the most likely explanation is that they don't think he's good enough.

If a team called me up right now and offered me a 3rd round puck for Dak....I would say "No Thank You"

lol Who cares if he did it against lesser opponents, he's still doing it. Besides, it's getting him valuable reps to get into that kind of a groove. If he gets hot at this time of the season, then so be it.

I don't care how we get there. Just get there.
