Better than Mazi Smith on day one,

Run stuffer
Pocket collapser
Pass rush ability

I would love it if he is still on the board in the 2nd. He wont be though.
I think he shoots up the draft board the closer it gets.

Would be a great pick in 2024 if we didn't already waste a 1st rounder on Mazi :(

I like him but I think he’s a Day 2, maybe early Day 3 guy.
I like him at our 2nd. His weakness is moving laterally which will pull him of the field some. However he can play both the run and pass. Id be willing to use a late 2nd on him even with Mazi slowly turning the corner

Dude is a really good football player. I wouldn't be surprised if he goes 1st round.

the chances of us taking another run stuffer DT in the first RD is ZERO.
I agree.
Good thing is Sweat isn't just a run stuffer. He actually has pass rushing skills.
And how long is Haskins going to be here for.?

I think Sweat should go higher than Mazi because I think he's a better player. Yes, Dallas should consider Sweat in Round 1.

Mazi went probably 20 picks higher than he should have based on potential. Sweet is a more rounded player at the same stage, but I think there are some limitations with him, oddly enough against the run. He his a linier player, so he is not going to be someone who moves with with LOS on stretch. Limits him as a run defender. Thats offset overall by his ability as a pass rusher.

Smith has been getting 15 to 20 snaps a game at 3T. Makes me think Quinn is starting to see the value of power inside. He hasnt gotten much run at 1T, but he has shown good mobility moving with the line. Adding Sweat to the DL with Smith and Odighizuwa gives alot of different and possibly very effective looks.

I dont know that he will actually get real first round consideration. He isnt getting far outside the 0 and 1 gaps, even with pass rush ability that still limits his value as a prospect. However I think is still firmly a day 2 guy because you know you are getting a guy that is consistently going to be effective playing 50% or so of your snaps

Sweat just win Big 12 defensive player of the year

I would select him in the first round in the mid to late 20s for sure.
Trust me. This guy is going to be a beast.

I like Byron Murphy II over sweat, just for the pure value, Murphy is a day two guy that might have a better NFL career.

Good player and fits a need. I'm just never a fan of spending a 1st round pick on an older player. Sweat played 5 years at Texas and will be 23 by the time training camp starts.

Crazy good athlete for a man his size.

It would be a weird for a team who pretended like 1Tech's were irrelevant for the past decade to suddenly spend back-to-back 1st rounders on 1Techs.
