Jason Garrett done as a coach?

Did he ever coach?

He'd improve Washington because he's gonna go 9-8 every year

He'd ruin Philly because he's gonna go 9-8 every year
The only reason he'd go 9-8 with Philly is because with a 17 game season you can't go 8-8. :muttley:

Garrett done as a HC ? yeh maybe .. but beauty is in eyes of the beholder.
One NFL may be so infatuated and influenced by his " salesmanship" of words and expression in the public.

He doesn't seem to have had success as an OC after his HC days in Dallas. (ala in NY Giants)
but maybe an NFL team will take him on as an offensive coordinator ?

A number of past HCs become retread new HCs again ( Rivera, Lovie, Reich, Gruden, Josh Daniels, etc)
So who knows. Time will tell.

The hate yall have for Garrett lol….wasn’t his fault Jerry hired him.
Garrett was promoted way too early. Had he spent more time as a QB coach and slowly been developed as a coach, his bad coaching habits might have gotten polished off. Do I think he could have been a great coach? Not likely. He might have turned out better than he did on a different path than Jerry set him on.

Seems ro be liking this commentating gig. I wonder if he's done with coaching?
JG made $25 million during his playing career, worked for Jerry for over a decade, and he's making $6 million a year with NBC.

Why would he want to go back to the long hours of coaching?

Coaching may be done with him!
He can't even get a major college gig.
Just because he was able to fool Jerry for 9.5 years does not mean the rest of the industry is run by amateurs

Dude is a stubborn coach who does not Iike making adjustments. Main reason why he many bad seasons with him in Dallas.

He should have been done as a coach long, long ago. Took this front office way too long to see the light. But I digress....
This is the main example of why Jerry Jones does not have the skill set to be a GM.
HC hires are probably the most important job of a GM and Jerry not only made the wrong hire, but stubbornly doubled down on it for years.
Wasted so many seasons.
It's very sad for us fans.

JG would do well as a college coach. Schemes there are really simplistic (outside of the top-5 NFL factory schools), and it's mostly about recruiting and motivation.

As an NFL coach, he is done and should have been done around 2010. I wouldn't even hire him as an analyst or staffer. He just doesn't have any ideas to contribute. Maybe he could be a position coach and run a few drills.

He’s a good guy. Not the best coach but you can’t knock him as a person. He’s pretty good in the studio, I wish him the best in his new career.
