Dallas knows how teams will try and prevent our deepest run in the playoffs—attack our run defense .

The 266 yards rushing for Buffalo were the most since 2020, the year before Quinn arrived and fixed one of the worst defensive units in franchise history.

For all of the progress the Cowboys have made under Quinn with turnovers and sacks , stopping the run has been a problem.

With the playoffs approaching the issue that has been among the most glaring in Quinn’s 3 seasons was once again a big problem in Buffalo.

While everyone wants to win the division, and believe me I do, the consolation prize could be the Rams again. Except this time they will have that young back that is playing really well. If Shanahan is #1 as a play caller, McVay is 1B

Yea , 5th seed definitely isn’t that bad a path. Except no home games .

But it’s very possible one of the 6th or 7th seeds could upset Det or Phi. Which means we wouldn’t have to face SF until Champ game.

Hankins will be back for the playoffs if not before.
However his playing time may be decided if the seeding is not set by then.
Having Hankins wouldn't solve much, I don't see the hype. Once they get to the outside, it's over! If teams were smart, they'd look at what we did against washington, don't rush up the middle when he's there, and go straight to the outside!!!!

Dallas got exposed YEARS ago for not being able to stop the run.....and got exposed again this year against San Fran and Cardinals....and now Buffalo. The story is out on them and always has been. You can't commit to that gameplan if the offense is putting up 40 points though.

I still want the division and the 2nd seed. Two possible home games. It’s the best route for us since the #1 is pretty much over.

well unfortunately he needs 2 more years to get better, there's no way he can be good in his first year because he's a DT
How long should you give him? Should he be good now? Even Jalen Carter is flawed and he's probably having one of the best rookie campaigns i've seen from a DT in a long time.

In 1992 when the 8-1 Cowboys lost to the 3-6 Rams at Texas stadium, were they exposed?

Do you hear what you just said???? Let's break this down

Should he be good now?- Why can't he, is it asking too much? I've always said (coogiguy03) that he doesn't have to be great, to some I guess that's asking too much. All I was saying is that can he make an "impression" that's not asking much at all, don't need him to be aaron donald right away, if he was, that's a plus!

Jalen Carter comments-Ok he's flawed and is having a great rookie campaign from a rookie DT, so he can do it, but Mazi can't? One was raw, and one had some issues off the field that made him drop, I get that. Once again it goes back to the making an impression. For all the stuff that we saw from Mazi, it got our hopes up, seeing his workouts, and knowing that he was seemingly a better person off the field than carter. He can get better, it's not like the season just started, we've been working with him since OTA's. There has to be a want to get better, do I doubt he wants to be like this all season HELL NO!!! I think he'll be fine, but right now, a lot of us aren't sure

I think Carter made one play last night. And when it counted they could not stop Walker. Rather up the middle or to the outside.
At this very moment right now put fan hood aside, would you take carter or mazi right now who ya got

I think Hankins helps more than people realize. It becomes a numbers game, especially when they can stack Hankins and Mazi both on the field at the same time. It really comes back to allocation of resources, and if you can cover the middle without bringing in extra bodies it helps those outside runs. Does it completely solve the issue? Absolutely not, but it does help.

No doubt his big body helps, he was missed. I just think having him in there with what we have wouldn't be that much better, we whiff on so many run plays that it's gut wrenching to watch

Seeing how Carter was a top pick, and had way more upside, and Mazi was ranked in the 20's.
No doubt you go with Carter.

That is like asking do you take a QB in the top ten or wait until the 3rd round. If you need a QB.
You pick where you are slotted, unless you trade the farm. Eagles made trades, Dallas did not.

been saying this all season. our run defense makes me nervous. good defenses don't give up 200 yards rushing. TWICE in same season. even before this game we were giving up 105 yards per game. at 4.3 YPC. that's not a good run defense. specially in december and january and the teams we have to face.
