Let's have a honest conversation about the officiating

Regardless of what side of the argument you are on....this team can't not win consistently being the most heavily penalized team in the league. WE are trying to do something that's never been done. When it comes to winning championships there's no correlation between winning in the postseason and leading the league in penalties. NONE. Not only are we heavily penalized but we also are penalized at the worst possible times.

Until this team or franchise shores this up it won't change. And at this point you have to wonder is there a correlation between the way we are officiating and Jerry Jones. Because this predates this current Cowboys team. For as long as I can remember this has been a issue since the 2000's......

The problem with penalties and timing is that there is almost never a good time to get them. So the timing is always going to be bad

Somewhere on the Dolphins message boards they are saying the same thing. For me the referees done as much damage to us as they've done to the other team especially this game.

Every NFL game has this same awful officiating, every single game. If we didn't take multiple stupid penalties every game I would agree, but they did not blow this game, our D did

We're incredibly undisciplined. And moreso on the road. We deserve over half of those calls IMO.
But it would be dishonest to say that the non calls aren't killing us, while benefitting others.

I've got eyes and replay. And you can't tell me that the most disruptive player in the league isn't being held constantly, but never given the same call that the opposing team gets away with in the same game.

I could say, "It is what it is."

But that's too simple of an explanation of how they're able to keep doing that to us.

From 2000-2022

Seasons with 100 or more penalties.
Cowboys 18 (last in the NFL)
Steelers 11
Packers 9

Seasons with 80 or less penalties.
Cowboys 0 (last in the NFL)
Steelers 3
Packers 4

Cowboys lead the league again in 2023.

You cannot use the excuse of "all teams think the same" because none of them have the receipts of history like the Cowboys do.

It is league policy to screw the Cowboys through the officiating. There is no other logical reasoning at this point. There is far too large of a sample size for that anymore.

nothing will be done until someone holds a press conference to discuss this sole issue, and lays out some statistics one by one
They dare not do that. The numbers are stark over time. The calls do not even out in the long run. Not even close.

Your numbers are fishy. These things are tracked.

Dallas has 23 offensive holding calls, tied with Miami and NO. Ten teams have at least 19 such calls. Philly is the only team in the league with fewer than 5. They have 4.

Crazy miami didnt get called for holding once that game, despite clearly holding.

They always get called for it when i watch them in other games, ive watched every game they play.

Pretty cool stuff
