I've posted this on few threads.

This is the ranking for offensive holding penalties for Dallas since 2014 season. I find it odd that we led in offensive holding penalties 4 times last 10 seasons regardless of who the HC, OC, OL coaches were or the OLinemen, and QB we had in that time period. We were also ranked in the top ten 8 out of 10 seasons.

Now this might be just coincidental but the 2 seasons we were not ranked high and actually did well are the seasons (2015, 2020) when we had bunch of terrible back up QBs playing instead of Romo and Dak. Our offense pretty much sucked in those two seasons. And we ranked #1 in holding calls on the seasons our offense was clicking. Are the refs trying to screw us when our offense is clicking?

2014 - #1,
2015 -#16
2016- #3
2017- #1
2018- #3
2019 -#10
2020- #31
2021 - #1
2022- #7
2023- #1

From 2000-2022

Seasons with 100 or more penalties.
Cowboys 18 (last in the NFL)
Steelers 11
Packers 9

Seasons with 80 or less penalties.
Cowboys 0 (last in the NFL)
Steelers 3
Packers 4

Cowboys lead the league again in 2023.

You cannot use the excuse of "all teams think the same" because none of them have the receipts of history like the Cowboys do.

It is league policy to screw the Cowboys through the officiating. There is no other logical reasoning at this point. There is far too large of a sample size for that anymore.
Wow! That’s all I have to say. The numbers are too much to just fluff it off and say we have stupid players, or being undisciplined. Those are some serious discrepancies.

I dunno, at this point I have to think this may be a top down issue. As you said this pre dates the current coaching staff and players but goes back multiple coaching staffs and players.
Pretty simple, Jerry Jones is a Maverick. It started with him refusing to share gate profits, getting is own sponsors, just last week he was publicly stating where the team would and wouldn't play internationally. How do you punish that type of arrogance?

No doubt the Cowboys make a lot of mistakes including stupid penalties. Some games it is worse than others but what irks me is the inconsistency. The Cowboys get called for holding when there i only a slight infraction, like Tyler Smith last week, while other teams tackle Damone Clark and get no call. The hit by Parsons was perfectly legal and a flag was thrown. The rule allows him two steps and Parson took one coming at full speed. That was a clean hit. But this is what we see all too often in this league. I don't think it is something against the Cowboys. I think the refs are favoring home teams to an extreme. When the Eagles played the Dolphins in Philly, the Phins were flagged 10 times to the Eagle 0. There is an issue in the NFL with officiating and it needs to be cleaned up.

If I was Jerry I would tell the NFL never to assign the Hochuli crew to one of my games. He is awful, like his father.

Regardless of what side of the argument you are on....this team can't not win consistently being the most heavily penalized team in the league. WE are trying to do something that's never been done. When it comes to winning championships there's no correlation between winning in the postseason and leading the league in penalties. NONE. Not only are we heavily penalized but we also are penalized at the worst possible times.

Until this team or franchise shores this up it won't change. And at this point you have to wonder is there a correlation between the way we are officiating and Jerry Jones. Because this predates this current Cowboys team. For as long as I can remember this has been a issue since the 2000's......
I agree with you about this issue
Penalties are killing us
This is mostly on Jerry and Mccarthy since they set the culture.

You wont want to hear this, but Dak needs to be a hard *** about this because Mccarthy (whose job this really is) is a cream puff. If he is the leader then he cant be their friend. Romo was the same way. You cannot be one of the guys and their friend and lead them to glory. This is the job of Mccarthy but if he is a cream puff then as the QB you have to tell them this is unacceptable and hold them accountable . We have all seen videos of Brady and Manning yelling at the OL. Where is Daks video? There is a time to be a good guy and a time to lead. Dak does not understand that or is not willing to do it

This wasn’t just holding. It was sexual assault.

Yeah I mean I’m for the players like Law and Dak holding other players accountable but doesn’t seem to happen. Probably in part because like you said of culture. Another part in why this team probably struggles. The QB or Coach or Leaders should lead….but instead it’s the same routine over and over.

We just get penalties and accept them but then complain about the no holding calls……

I agree but I also don’t think Jerry would ever hire that guy. I mean ultimately Mike was good enough to lead the Packers. I know he had A Rod but he managed to coach some wins with his team being depleted. But he was the head of the snake in GB. In Dallas he’s just one of the cooks in the kitchen.

And remember the 2016 team? We didn’t get punched in the mouth. Our lines were bullies. They took it to the other teams. So why didn’t that team make the NFC championship game?

The Green Bay packers were allowed to hold the cowboys defensive line all game long and never once got called for it. That’s when it all came out that “ oh yea you can hold as long as your hands are inside the shoulders” what a crock of shittte that is
I was following your response until you blamed the refs for us losing.

“You are what your record says you are.” - Bill Parcells

Perhaps Jerry’s insistence on giving his hc no power is to blame for the near 30 yr deep playoff run draught?

It ain’t the refs and it ain’t Dak’s fault, it’s the fuhrers fault.
