Holding is subjective. You and I could watch the film and almost certainly end up with different totals but I'd bet we'd all be well into the double digits.

I don't buy the theory Jerry tried to sell that officials assume he's not in position to make the play so they don't call it. I've seen holding calls away from the play every week of every NFL season of my lifetime as a fan.

Many will claim conspiracy. Anti-my team. I think this is more about the obsession to protect the QB at all cost. But a review would be necessary to see if the other top pass rushers also aren't drawing any holding calls. If it's just Micah then that would be hard to explain.

There are blatant videos of holding and hands to the face not being called on Parsons. It can't be any more obvious.
The NFL and referees could broadcast it to the world that they fix games and points and people still wouldn't believe them.
You see it with your own eyes yet you still refuse to believe it.
How many coincidences in a row before people wake up?

Look at the way the lady ref just nonchalantly tossed the flag after the run was nearly over. Like she didn't want anyone to notice. Did the network show a replay?

The NFL has all the bobbleheads on tv talking about the ending of the game and not the obvious tripping call. Just like a magician. Look at my right hand, not the left hand.

Go look at the ridiculous intentional grounding against the Bengals on Sunday. I put it in a thread in the NFL forum.

Jedi mind tricks: This is not the hold you are looking for.

If the curse is really lifted, Micah will get a holding call on the final possession of the NFC Championship Game that will allow the Cowboys to advance to the Super Bowl.

Now can someone research to see if other top sack leaders are also getting the same treatment. Are Myles Garrett and TJ Watt creating holding penalties?

I know it seems bad and maybe it is, but elite pass rushers aren't going to get the benefit of the doubt in general. I'd be curious to see a breakdown by games, who the ref crew was and compared to other DE's.

Another still picture purporting to show holding. Stirring the pot of emotion much? 23 holdings my left foot. Lol.

I think he’s been too public about the lack of calls. Should be working the line judge between plays but not taking it to social media. The children in stripes don’t like being shown up.

As a general matter, Myles Garrett has faced similar issues (he’s also made the mistake of publicly criticizing the refs). My guess is that, except in the most egregious cases, refs are under orders not to slow down the game and cause offenses to stall by calling holds that could otherwise be called on every play.

Drafting a defensive superstar doesn’t get you the same impact as an offensive superstar in a league that is set up to allow offenses to succeed.

I think it’s kind of a Legion of Boom situation going on. Does anyone else remember in their prime, they basically committed illegal contact and pass interference on every play. It got to the point where the officials just stopped calling it except the the most obvious egregious ones. Someone is literally going to have to bear hug Parsons and spin him around a few times like they’re10 years olds at a cotillion dance to get a flag.

Micah runs so fast his head flips back.

That's where I'm leaning, the league has an OL drought and lost starting QBs = lost TV ratings, they're letting a lot slide these days with OL holding. Added to that are other preferences the NFL has like close games, home wins, marquee teams in the playoffs, high scores,,, and punishment for anybody that points out they're not calling games straight.

Holding happens every play

but theres no excuse to go this many games without holding being called

I think he just doesn’t know how (or is unwilling) to “sell it” to the refs to get a call.

See: Fletcher Cox pirrouettes…
I think this pretty much sums it up. I don't think Micah has the mentality of a flopper and isn't willing to sell penalties super hard in order to get the call. He's 100% heart all the time.

I also think there is some motivation on the NFL's part to keep top shelf pass rushers from absolutely annihilating games. Players like Micah, TJ Watt, Garrett, etc could probably get 2, 3, even 4 sacks in most games if tackles were allowed no holding whatsoever.

I am not saying I agree with it, but it is a possible explanation.

Overall I think the NFL needs to make it a point of emphasis to deprioritize holding calls in general though. The ticky tack variety that get called every single game and derail drives are not good for the game.

I guess it's just 2 guys to them, 1 is at a disadvantage blocking a speed demon! This is what i'm assuming the refs are taking it as, and are giving more help to the blocker and not the blocked.

The plays where we run and a guy from our team bounces it outside, yet gets his jersey held, that to them is CLEARLY holding, I guess because it allowed the player to escape freely

EXACTLY WHAT i'm thinking, it has to be. If not, these guys would have 30 sacks a game.
