Curious…

If McCarthy coming back means no Dak extension would people be ok with that?

Please let me know what you think.
All3 get an extension....Dak, McCarthy and Quinn... Jerry to Dallas fans "you get screwed-you get screwed-every Dallas fan gets screwed.... Keep sending me your money though,suckers.....

Well, I suggest you quit watching as you’ve quit everything else. It’s just keeping you miserable and the rest of us have to put up with it. I think there should be “Poor Me” forum.
I suggest you also be les gullible thinking each offseason will be different.

At what point do you just admit what their strategy is?

If Jerry is dumb enough to roll Fat Mike back out, he's dumb enough to extend Dak. And since nobody will want to touch Quinn after his terrible job, and since other teams aren't as dumb as we are, he'll be back, too.
If Seattle doesn't hire Quinn, Jerry has to fire him. There is no possible way he can be brought back. And I was so high on the guy.

Not surprised in the least. You don’t see coaches being fired after 3 straight 12-5 playoff seasons. However, next year will very likely be the end of the line for McCarthy with his contract coming to an end if the Cowboys don’t make the playoffs or advance in them.
Didn’t Marty Schotehimmer get canned after multiple first round exits after going 14-2, 12-4 etc?

Not really. We were told McCarthy would solve our issues, hence why he was adamant about taking back play calling. Remember, the Cowboys offense, statistically, was pretty good last year too under Moore.

The reality is that in most of our big games, both sides of the ball failed. But it's clear Jerry and the homers are gonna try to sell this as the offense was fine, it was the defense that continually let us down in big spots.
Well tell you what as a homer I can tell you the offense ain't fine and has never been fine. Whether that's because of Dak or scheme it ain't fine and probably never will be. Its ceiling is 12 wins and looking silly in the first round of the playoffs. Its floor is probably the same.

And by then there will be no good coaches available, which actually works for Jerry. Should be plenty of Yes Men out there to lock up for the next 5 years or so.
When you look at the playoff record of the head coaches we’ve had not counting Barry Switzer, it hasn’t been good with any of them. In 9 full seasons Jason Garrett won as many playoff games as Parcells, Phillips and McCarthy combined in 11 full seasons. Wade got fired half way through his forth season. Regardless the head coach and the QB it’s the same problem in the playoffs. I believe the issue is with the jughead Joneses, and how they run the team. They spend too much time coddling their players who consistently don’t show up in the playoffs.

Well not everyone can be a sunshine-pumping Jerry-jock-sniffer.

I called it, Jerry and his idiot son with the continuity crap, they get everything they deserve.

More of the same joke of a team and clown show, team will be worse next year and may not or will lose first round yet again.

Lame duck Mike in another futile season.

That great but the point is that the offense also failed just like the defense but they are now going to sell this as the DC was the problem and that's what held us back.

It's BS.

God. This would be the absolute worst case scenario. But it's almost a guarantee that Dak will get an extension to be the highest paid player ever.

Hopefully someone hires quinn because I don't c Jerry firing him.

But if McCarthy and Quinn are back, and Dak gets an extension, all next year means absolutely nothing until the playoffs. Nobody believes it will be any different come playoff time, no matter what happens in the regular season.

I agree. If they extend Dak then I think I’m going to take a break from the NFL until Dak is done. If the goal is to develop Trey and/or another young QB then I’m still in.

Growing up south of Chicago I was a massive Bulls fan. Jerry Reinsdorf’s inability or stubborn refusal to field another winning team just burned me out. I’m at that level with the Cowboys.

Jerry Jones’ inability or stubbornness to fix this organization is burning me out as a fan. Like I’ve said several times, it’s just not fun anymore. The disappointment is not outweighing the entertainment value. It’s getting to be more frustrating than entertaining.
I had to do this during the second half of the Garrett years. It was obvious there was zero chance to win, just as there is zero chance now.

I hope Jerry dies without seeing another Superbowl appearance. Just like my dad, a lifetime fan of the Cowboys, died last year having suffered as a fan since 1995.
