I am not defending Quinn. But essentially making him the scapegoat for this season is typical BS from Jerry and the Cowboys homers. The offense was anywhere from mediocre to terrible in many of our biggest games this year.
He deserves to be made the scapegoat. All year he was mismanaging players and playing players out of position. There was no excuse after LVE went down to NOT put Parsons at LB and add Evans. That would've been a pretty good duo. Instead, his love affair with safeties and converted linebackers like Bell doomed the team against the run. You saw the same thing against Green Bay. And running 6 DBs for over 80% of the defensive snaps against Green Bay was hideous. The Cowboys are a man team...not zone. He had Gilmore and Bland playing 10 yards off TIGHT ENDS in that game.

But then what's the ****** point of bringing him back? If three straight 12 wins seasons only buys you ONE more season, then guess what? You've basically already made up your mind about the coach.

This is the type of stupid thinking Jerry needs to get beyond. If you are literally having your coach coach the last year of his contract to save his job, then geezus.

Sad thing is he did this with Garrett TWICE. And did he get rewarded? Nope. Jerry might be a shrewd business guy, but he's a moron as a football guy.
If next season turns out different and we go deep in the playoffs, McCarthy will be extended. Jerry is too old to start over with a new HC, especially after three straight 12 win seasons. Things aren’t bad enough for him to make a head coaching change. At his age he could kick the bucket at any time. He wants to give McCarthy one more season. Besides, if you fire him you’re firing the OC and our offense was really good this season once we ironed out the kinks. We just have to figure out what’s going wrong in the playoffs. A new HC may not fix the problem. None of the last four Cowboys head coaches have been able to figure it out.

Will a new DC make any difference next year?
I am simply asking as I don't know if anything that will make a difference will actually be done by Jerruh and MM.
The hope and prayer is that a new DC brings a different scheme thats not so turnover dependent. Also, the new scheme aggressively addresses run stopping with a MUCH BIGGER AND MORE POWERFUL front 7.

Okay, Quinn needs to go and no extension for Dak.
I am completely expecting Jerry extends both now...MM and Dak.

This will cement the Jerry legacy as the biggest buffoon ever to try and run a franchise.

The coaches were right not to toast him back then...and no one will ever raise their glass now.

Then draft a stud RB in the first few rounds. You can get some good ones there.
They have a bunch of needs. They need OL help. They need DT help. They need LB help.

They also don't have their full list of picks having traded away a 4th and 5th rounder.

They are going to band aid the heck out of this team, tell us that guys like Mazi Smith are gonna improve and just do what they do every single offseason.

Here is the full statement from Jones:
"I believe this team is very close and capable of achieving our ultimate goals and the best step forward for us will be with Mike McCarthy as our head coach. There is great benefit to continuing the team's progress under Mike's leadership as our head coach. Specifically, there are many layers of success that have occurred this season as a result of Mike's approach to leading the team, both with individual players and with our team collectively. Mike has the highest regular season winning percentage of any head coach in Cowboys history and we will dedicate ourselves, in partnership with him, to translating that into reaching our post season goals. Certainly, Mike's career has demonstrated postseason success at a high level, and we have great confidence that can continue.
Further, our loss on Sunday is shared by everyone here, not just Coach McCarthy. Our players. Our coaches. Our front office. Myself. There is accountability for our results. I am accountable for our results. The lens we use to view and evaluate Coach McCarthy is holistic. While we're all disappointed with the result on Sunday and with our playoff record, I am 100 percent supportive of him as our head coach and ability to reach our goals.
We will start our process of review and decision making regarding everything that impacts our team and roster and, while we're not going to address specific players and extensions or free agents at this point, it deserves our deepest review and consideration, and it will get it."

I can't wait so see quinn go. This is the most overrated defense I have ever seen. I got so sick of the media every week saying how good this defense is.

They are putrid against any decent QB. They feasted on bad teams and padded their stats during those games, just like the offense did.

I would rather have a defense that can force punts but not generate turnovers over one that can force punts but generates turnovers. U can't count on turnovers against the best teams, (which is why this team never beats the good teams).

It's pretty sad when the odds of the opposing team scoring a TD are better that the odds of forcing a punt.

This defense could not get off the field without a turnover or a sack/offensive penalty the last 2 months of the season.

No surprise, nothing will change till Jerry is 6' under and maybe not even then because his son is an idiot as well
I worry Dummy will be worse than his father, seems to be an accountant type, Jerry at least takes risks.

But didn't we have higher hopes for our defense? Cowboys sucking on offense against the Packers, Bills and San Fran? I can see it. Cowboys sucking on defense against Josh Dobbs and the Cardinals just threw me completely off. And Packers could've scored 70 if they wanted to. That was honeslty the worst defensive performance I have seen in 20 years. It was worse than Mike Nolan.
Not really. We were told McCarthy would solve our issues, hence why he was adamant about taking back play calling. Remember, the Cowboys offense, statistically, was pretty good last year too under Moore.

The reality is that in most of our big games, both sides of the ball failed. But it's clear Jerry and the homers are gonna try to sell this as the offense was fine, it was the defense that continually let us down in big spots.

Well, I suggest you quit watching as you’ve quit everything else. It’s just keeping you miserable and the rest of us have to put up with it. I think there should be “Poor Me” forum.
