He deserves to be made the scapegoat. All year he was mismanaging players and playing players out of position. There was no excuse after LVE went down to NOT put Parsons at LB and add Evans. That would've been a pretty good duo. Instead, his love affair with safeties and converted linebackers like Bell doomed the team against the run. You saw the same thing against Green Bay. And running 6 DBs for over 80% of the defensive snaps against Green Bay was hideous. The Cowboys are a man team...not zone. He had Gilmore and Bland playing 10 yards off TIGHT ENDS in that game.

No one is defending him.

But to make him out to be THE ISSUE this year and why we failed again is just stupidity. The offense came up small in big spots too. But we are bringing back the OC yet somehow, the DC has to go. LOL. So Cowboys right there..........

I don’t mind this as much if MM as a QB guy privately told Jerry that Lance has got the tools to be the next QB and the team drafts a QB high. If we extend Dak I’m done. I won’t even care next year. He’s proven himself to be a playoff choker.

I agree. If they extend Dak then I think I’m going to take a break from the NFL until Dak is done. If the goal is to develop Trey and/or another young QB then I’m still in.

Growing up south of Chicago I was a massive Bulls fan. Jerry Reinsdorf’s inability or stubborn refusal to field another winning team just burned me out. I’m at that level with the Cowboys.

Jerry Jones’ inability or stubbornness to fix this organization is burning me out as a fan. Like I’ve said several times, it’s just not fun anymore. The disappointment is not outweighing the entertainment value. It’s getting to be more frustrating than entertaining.

Agree it was bad. Not being able to run the ball results in this type of play calling because no play action pass which has been great when they were able to run the ball last year.

Risks? Like what? Hiring crappy coaches? Waiting til day 3 or after the draft to find a QB?

Stuff like the Walker trade was over 30 years ago. Year one after taking over a 3-13 team. Not to mention Jerry/Jimmy had no problem getting rid of anyone they inherited.

And he will be stripped down. If Shotty is still there then JJ needs another scapegoat. He will take over playcalling. No way he can continue to call plays. He is not a running coach and this O-Line is not a running O-Line and we have no real RB. And our Defense can’t stop the run. You can’t get enough to do both. Drafting late in the draft. Having a supposed strong schedule.

I can't wait so see quinn go. This is the most overrated defense I have ever seen. I got so sick of the media every week saying how good this defense is.

They are putrid against any decent QB. They feasted on bad teams and padded their stats during those games, just like the offense did.

I would rather have a defense that can force punts but not generate turnovers over one that can force punts but generates turnovers. U can't count on turnovers against the best teams, (which is why this team never beats the good teams).

It's pretty sad when the odds of the opposing team scoring a TD are better that the odds of forcing a punt.

This defense could not get off the field without a turnover or a sack/offensive penalty the last 2 months of the season.

But why not then apply that logic to the offense and it's leader, the OC? The offense also came up small in important spots/games and feasted on mediocre defenses.

What the Cowboys and some of the homers are about to do is laughable. They are going to sell the OC has having done a really nice job but the DC failed. That's BS but some Cowboys fans are just naive enough to lap it up.

In 2016 we lost to that Packers team limped into the playoffs and we're the 6th seed with a beat up secondary.
They were playing 2 practice squad corners I remember because troy Aikman almost had a seizure because we didn't take advantage.

We had prime Zeke in that game, no running back today can hold his jockstrap.

I mean there will always be something. Even if Dak played you know what the defense will suck. If the defense is top 5? Dak will suck. Its always gonna be somethihng.

while I am not happy with the result of the season, explain how a 72 year old guy who has seen the game pass him by would fix the team? He won't stop Dak's headlights in the post season, he won't stop bad penalties, he won't stop the media gaze, if anything he will add to it etc. I am not sure if changing fat Mike for Hoodie will make any difference

The hope and prayer is that a new DC brings a different scheme thats not so turnover dependent. Also, the new scheme aggressively addresses run stopping with a MUCH BIGGER AND MORE POWERFUL front 7.
