After the 49ers and DL Arik Armstead attempted but failed to work out a restructured contract, San Francisco now plans to release him, per source. Armstead now is expected to become a free agent. The two sides came close to a deal, but Armstead, as @Schultz_Report reported, wanted to see what his market is.

If Texans don’t go for Wilkins he makes sense there with the connection to demeco

Out here in the Bay Area sports radio they say it will a post June 1st cut and will save the Niners about 18mil

Eagles cutting everyone, 49ers not gonna be able to hold onto everyone especially after they pay Purdy. The time is now... No excuses not to be able to be competitive in the NFC.
Thank goodness, they may have missed their window. Same with Philly. Thank you KC.

given the market need for good DTs he will be over paid. that's how the FA market for good players always workout. they get over paid.

Right, except these teams will aggressively re-tool, while we will likely remain treading water.
You mean you don't like the classic "Kick the Salary Can Down the Road" board game the Jones' play with real life athletes?

LOL at all of us stupidly hoping that this team will actually do something differently than waiting 5 days into FA to sign some bargain bin dude.

Knee injury- sounds right up our ally - torn meniscus- might be ready by TC

He can sit on the IR with LVE, isn't he an injury concern. Probably cut and re-signed on a lesser amount

Everyone seems to be sold on this idea that the 49ers are going to be playing Purdy. Not sure why
