Interesting video in the fact that they have taken about 5 offensive plays and show them over and over and over....
His route running is simplistic in the video, too. He's probably gotten by on speed alone to this point.

its a 6th rounder so at this point if he can make the team would be great.

Overview

Flournoy offers size and football character that is pro-caliber but has areas where he must improve. Against off-man, Flournoy utilizes his size and ball skills to stack catches. Against press, however, he can be tardy off the release and becomes reliant on physicality over route acumen to create throwing windows for his quarterback. The route running is undisciplined but can be sharpened with work. The lack of suddenness could hold him back against tight man coverage, though. Flournoy had some memorable reps at the Senior Bowl, which could make him a Day 3 pick with a shot at a roster spot.

Strengths

  • Possesses size and physique of an NFL target.
  • Commitment to vertical push in drive phase of the route.
  • Works back into top positioning on throws underneath.
  • Catches with sudden, sticky hands and has a feel for congestion around him.
  • Elusive and physical with the ball in his hands.
  • Head coach raves about coachability and team-first mentality.

Weaknesses

  • Hit-or-miss eluding physical press coverage in his release.
  • Routes tend to be unfocused at times.
  • Footwork can become clunky getting into intermediate breaks.
  • Lacks knee bend and suddenness to create consistent separation.
The first r we drafted in years with low or ven mid 4.4 speed

I think he has something…he’s just taking too long to get there…and I’m also not sure what that something is…..I see flash’s…
Well, he's going into his 3rd year........rookies year was a wash, even he admits that and FO probably expected too much but he worked hard. He played with way more confidence last season and was rewarded with more snaps/targets. I'm excited to see if he can take it to the next and win the starting job opposite of Lamb.

Personally, I think its telling when a guy has a rookie year that bad regardless of whatever excuse the FO makes for him. I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt on it...but it is year 3. He deserves that.

I don’t know if this guy competes year 1, but man he looks like he could be a fun one in preseason. Would love for him and Trey to hit it off
