If this happens, we could be looking at $35-40M to sign him......

NFL Defensive Player of the Year Odds: Micah Parsons, Myles Garrett Headline Favorites to Win Award

Reed Wallach | 4 Hours Ago

The last few years have had some epic races for Defensive Player of the Year, and we should expect no different in 2024 with a host of pass rushers given a good shot to win the award.
Myles Garrett took home Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2023, the leading man on the vaunted Browns defense, and he’s the second choice this season to repeat in 2024, behind last year's contender Micah Parsons of the Cowboys.
Those two are far from the only players at the top of the oddsboard. T.J. Watt, Nick Bosa, and Maxx Crosby are all at +1000 or short, making for five games at the top of the list with short odds.
Here’s the early odds for what’s expected to be a crowded race for DPOY this season.

2024 Defensive Player of the Year

Odds via FanDuel Sportsbook
  • Micah Parsons: +600
  • Myles Garrett: +650
  • T.J. Watt: +800

Likely the only way Parsons doesn't finish in the top 3/4 in voting is if he gets hurt.

It's bound to happen ^^^^ and he'll talk about how motivated he is to get back on the field etc etc, meanwhile he'll podcast all day long on how teams are playing, and what players are doing wrong as if he's retired from the league!

If this happens, we could be looking at $35-40M to sign him......

DPOY- Disappears in Playoffs of the year!!!

I would argue we have 5-6 top positional players and can't get past a 1st round playoff game........something is wrong
  • Diggs
  • Parsons
  • Tyler
  • Martin
  • CeeDee
  • Bland
  • Dak ( I know ???? )
We always get caught with our pants down when playing a team that studied us and has a quality coaching staff who can find ways to win doing the simple things like DBs studying where a QB likes to go with the ball.

Might be better if we played someine besides the Niners and Packers because those 2 are always gonna have that regardless if they have a lesser team or quality of talent.

Well I think you know the answer to your question, right? 2 disappear come the post season, 1 was hurt last year, 1 is the only top WR we have on the roster, 1 is likely to retire after this year and was part of a patchwork OL last year. I suppose you want to argue with me about this hot take, right?

If that ends up being a SB MVP award instead of DPOY.........pay him.

If Parsons is to get either, he must become just as relevant in December and January as he is the months prior.

More accolades for the the fool...give him some money,
pour some honey on him and Dak.

He can win if he continues to disappear art the end of the season...

The whole he doesn’t perform in the playoffs things is so stupid it’s not even funny. Go back and review our 4 playoff games with him. Tb he played well… SF the first game he was all over the place… the defense essentially gave up 16 points. 7 other points were a direct result of a dak pick in our own territory.

The second SF game the defense gave up 19 points.

Against GB what the hell did people want him to do!? He is one guy…. In the nfl you cannot get it done with one guy. Aaron jones was killing us. GB did exactly what buffalo did ran at our small interior and we couldn’t do a thing about it.

So that means Micah and the defense have played well in 3 out of 4 playoff games. Give it a rest with the “Micah doesn’t perform on the playoffs BS”. Just because he didn’t show up on the stat sheet doesn’t mean he wasn’t impacting the game.

I agree, your evaluation of who is a top player is what's wrong.
