Murray or Elliott

a lot of people were mad at Elliot because of the whole suspension fiasco instead of blaming Goofsmell and the crooked NFL
Murray got a lot of heat for that key fumble against GB
I think Elliot had overall more talent

Murray did take a lot of heat for that fumble, but I saw it differently. Peppers, the new HOF inductee, made a hell of a play.
 
Ezekiel Elliott. Final answer. And my reason is on fumbling alone.

Elliott has fumbled more than Demarco Murray over the same timespan. However, Murray had a tendency of carrying the ball like a loaf of bread at times.

There is no way of proving it but I will state there would have been a far less likely chance of Elliott fumbling during that key drive against the Packers in the 2014 playoffs. Murray had a HUGE hole to run through. Julius Peppers was clearly blocked out of the hole by Zack Martin but Peppers reached back into the hole and stripped Murray of the ball.

Ball security is an every player responsibility. It is not whenever a running back decides to properly cover up the ball running through the freaking line of scrimmage. Remember your Pee Wee football training!

I'd go with Zeke. His early years in this league he was a complete RB and dominant in almost every area, especially areas like pass pro which get overlooked. Nothing against Murray, I think its closer than most people initially think, but his 2014 season he really benefited by that Oline which was the best this team has had since the early 90s. The 2016 line Zekes rookie year was excellent as well, but Doug Free wasn't quite the same player.

Elliott was one of the best backs to play college and pros he just had a short career comes with the territory I'm taking Ezekiel Elliott do head back-to-back 1800 yards in college and then followed it up with a one of the best rookie years ever top five all time in the NFL for a rookie he should have been the rookie of the year for the offense not Prescott and then you add in if you didn't get suspended he led the league and yards per game in 2017 and then followed it up with a second rushing crown in 2018 imagine coming out of college being one of the best college players led his team and carried that team and at Ohio State in the playoffs to have it 1600 yard rookie season and then nearly half three Russian crowns right out of college dude he's the one who's underrated here people have no respect for Ezekiel Elliott because of his suspension because his nose ring and all that other things that went along with the some small baggage he had when he first came into the league they're holding that against him...

I mean I like Murray even though he's a sooner I try not to hold that against him but it it's a fine line there's a small gap but it's Ezekiel Elliott was a better athlete just as punishing for the guy above who thinks Elliot didn't punish guys but look at his college career and then followed up with his first three years that's five years that's almost unprecedented by a player.. Yes he started dropping off in 2019 has something to do with the age but has something to do with Kellen Moore as well...

that's not why I would have picked him but Ezekiel Elliott was a better player coming out of college back-to-back 1800 yards then having a 1600 yard rookie year he should have been rookie of the year of course it went to Prescott the quarterback he would have literally had three rushing crowns coming out of college had it not been for the suspension you had the two 1800 yards in college I mean that's one of the best five year spans by any running back that I can remember.... That suspension set back his career and his reputation should have never happened I mean that man was leading the league in yards per game in 2017 that messed up the Cowboys and elliott's career but then he follows it up with another rushing crown and he still was one of the top backs in 2019 even though people here said he wasn't he literally in what you call yards from scrimmage top five I mean yes he's a running back and he was abused in college he had a shorter career than most because of all the wear and tear I imagine all the way back to college this man was never sitting on the bench waiting on somebody else... So while it's a small gap I will take Elliot over Murray..
 
I watched a sideline video of Zeke almost passing out after a 10-second 5-yard drill yikes. That said, Zeke all the way every day
 
Prime Elliott. He just had more signature plays than Murray from where I sit. Murray was a grinder and could get you 20+ carries a game and still do it at a good clip. But when you think of things they did, you think of Murray's 91-yard run and him trucking that Philly DL guy. Most punishing run in franchise history (unless you can find me a Marion barber clip, lol). For Zeke you remember that 83-yard screen against the Steelers, the hurdle over the Philly player he should have scored on and the okie doke spin move he put on Clay Matthews Jr. in the backfield in the Green Bay playoff game in Dallas. I put him over the top just for that juke alone. Both tough, both good at pass pro, and getting the yards they needed to in short distance situations. I pick Zeke but it's true Murray is generally underrated.
 
Elliott is a much better back than Murray. People seem to forget that Murray spent half his time in Dallas in the training room. His only full season was his contract year, go figure I believe.
 
Zeke but murray was a beast but holy **** when he fumbled it was always at the worst time.
Also Zeke didnt immediately go a division rival

Sean Lee vs him in game 2 was such a blast to watch that was ruined when romo got hurt for the billionth time

If you want Demarco Murray to get his flowers then don't compare him to Zeke in his prime. It's not close.

Talking about his prime is so short? DeMarco Murray didn't even have a good year until his third year I think you Elliott had a better rookie year then demarco's Murray's first two years in this league and they both played in the NFL about the same stretch, but Elliott actually had a better prime stretch you're saying it's shorter.. It wasn't suspended he would have came out of the gate with 5 straight over 1200 yard seasons 3 rushing crowns etcetera etc there's no way Murray even gets close to that yes it's a fine line... How many people forget if it wasn't for the suspension he would have had like nearly 1700 yards as a rookie he probably had about 1400 yards in his second year on the pace he was at easily and then he followed that up with almost 1400 yards and another 1300 yards that's right out of the gate I believe he would have three straight rushing crowns his prime Trump's anything Murray does in the league Murray had one generational memorable year nearly had 2000 yards that was great... Murray did that 4 years in.. I know this is just an opinion but the facts are all there Ellie was better early and longer... I mean it Murray literally only played eight seasons I believe four of them were under 900 yards.. And somehow Elliot on some broken wheels washed up was getting close to 900 yards his last two seasons here and was being called names and yet that's how Murray came into the league and had many of those seasons as well....

you know people's memories are bad and i don't blame you but the man only play seven seasons that would be Murray and four of them were under 900 yards...
