Just curious which of these backs you would prefer if you were starting a team and they were in their prime. I know they were both great and all but sometimes I feel Demarco Murray doesn't get quiet the credit when discussing former Cowboy RB's.....
I loved Murray and thought he was both underrated and zeke overrated. I think it’s a wash though the fan club would argue differently.

He did everything running, blocking, receiving just as well imho, if not better.

Ill take Zeke only because of his blocking. I thought Murray was a hell of a back and that 2014 year was incredible. Ill take Emmitt and dorsett over both of them

Zeke easy.

Both guys were great, but Zeke had breakaway speed that Murray did not.

Prime Zeke was one of the best RBs this league has ever seen. He would get tackled and then out of no where get an extra 2-3 yards somehow. Had breakaway speed, could truck any defender, had all the moves (juke, spin, hurdle), it was just beautiful to watch. He could catch, he could block, he could do it all. It's just a tragedy he fell off so quickly. It's crazy to think Christian McCaffrey was drafted only a year after Zeke and is still going strong, yet Zeke started to fall off after about his 3rd-4th season.

One player overachieved. The other player underachieved. I will take the overachiever.

Positive like what long speed maybe but he has 49 career touchdowns and zekiel Elliott 71 and that's just rushing touchdowns.. And as Cowboys careers go it's not even close Elliott on the all time list is 3 and Murray's way down there he didn't stay here long enough.. But even as a career Elliott has 2000 more yards and counting... He had way more big years and all this explosive you guys just think about a handful of plays and that one great year he only played seven years and four of them were under 900 yards so in my opinion the dude was underachieving compared to his real talent he should have had a lot more yards and touchdowns he didn't he added the fumbles Elliott hands down should be everyone's choice if they keep perspective... Elliott's career he has numbers that stack up against some of the Hall of Fame running backs Murray falls short of that he didn't do it consistently enough Elliott did it right out-of-the-box back-to-back 1800 yards and college has one of the best fit all time best rookie production from a running back it would have had three straight rushing crowns out of College in the pros had it not been for suspension and even during the year he was suspended he led the league in yards per game...

I realize people will pick who they want to pick but I don't think there's much debate even though there's a maybe a small gap both did really good things here but Elliott was better in just about every category... I mean is it your eye even had more receiving yards and twice as many receiving touchdowns I think people's memories are skewed because they didn't like the man I mean Elliott had his warts because of his suspension and his nose ring and all the rumors that he was out of shape and not ready well that's odd because he outproduced a guy that allegedly might have been in better shape... Most of those narratives were all wrong Elliott was an explosive power back he was big strong physical and so we didn't have the long speed especially as he got older but he was also dynamic absolute elite in college and his first four years in the pros it's one of the best six year stretches you're gonna get and I say the man is being condemned for his personality and the alleged narratives that he had..
Zeke never had 1,800 yards rushing, I guess u r adding receiving as well.

DeMarco Murray carried this team in 2014. Romo had the best passing season of his career. As Garrett used to say.....he always felt forward and 2-3 yards first downs were automatic. He had over 425 touches in his final year as a Cowboy. I'm not sure any RB has had that many since. As you can see I'm a huge fan of Murray but Zeke was a beast.

Murray had durability and fumbling issues. Zeke played like an mvp early in his career

Zeke had a better career, but I’d take Murray‘s best year over Zeke’s anytime.

Zeke was the better player but I liked Murray a lot. I felt Murray was more of a patient runner and had better vision.

Murray played on some pretty mediocre Dallas teams early in his career, so I think that is why he is generally pretty overlooked.

If he had gotten to play behind the offensive lines that we fielded from 2014-2019 for another 4 or 5 seasons I think he would have put up 1000+ yards each year.

That being said, I think prime Zeke was still a cut above. His first 3 years in the league were special.
