I am beginning to think they are as rare as really good QBs.

Reid obviously is king of the hill right now.

Who is #2?

They’re all good in their own way. It’s about the GM way more than a coach.

The GM is supposed to get the talent; BUT the HC hires the staff and makes the calls
Yeah its hard to perform for a lousy GM but it has been done.
So really who is your best HC in the NFL?

The head coach does not necessarily hire the staff, just ask Jerry

Without a good owner, a good GM, a head coach is not going to make a difference. That’s why we have problems here in Dallas. Depends what you’re looking for in a head coach. Do you want him to call defense, offense, plays . Strictly time management. What are you looking for in head coach? The question is just too vast.

you look at the best HCs of the last twenty years and pretty much all of them are to a great extent like CEOs
Now BB had a lot of input on the defensive side of the ball but still he took a step back
Unlike our circus, at all other franchises it is the HC that sets the tone; you look at SF or Baltimore or whoever and you see the coach
I think it is no coincidence that we do not reach the top here

good question, not very many I would say.
The minnesota HC is doing something right, but can he keep it going.

That is seemingly how it goes. HC success and QB success are closely correlated. You can be a good coach but not have the QB, won't succeed much. You can be a good QB but a terrible head coach, also won't succeed much.

This was forty years ago of course but Joe Gibbs won three SBs with three different QBs and none of them were all that.
BP won each of his with a different QB and lets be blunt neither were all world
So it can be done; I mean when you look at the off brand SB winning QBs like Flacco and Dilfer; Johnson and Foles; Stafford...
