Be careful on Twitter

Just had an odd experience on Twitter. Someone posing as Claire Wolford, a Cowboys cheerleader, was in my dms following a tweet I posted involving Dak. At first, she sent me a picture of her, which didn't exactly match up with what Claire Wolford looks like. Secondly, the conversation was as weird as those posing as furries offering art commissions. I figured out quickly it wasn't the real Claire Wolford. So yeah, just a PSA, be on the lookout for a Twitter scam involving people posing as Cowboys cheerleaders.

I tend to avoid most social media for a myriad of reasons. Twitter particularly became a crap-show after Elon bought it which is a shame as I used to occasionally logon to get updates from people who practice similar hobbies as mine.

No kidding. The amount of scams that flood my dms. It's why I prefer Telegram when I'm not here. I will say, Blue sky is pretty good too.

So far I've found a pretty good list of Astrophotographers on BlueSky. So I am there to follow them, but I haven't found a great place for my other hobbies. Twitter was pretty much a one-stop shop for following like minded hobbyist. Prior to that Google+ was it, but then Google shut that down and most migrated to Twitter.

lol I'm a habitual hobbyist.

• Ham radio operator
• Winemaking
• Electronics and repair
• I write old ASCII Internet MUD (Multi-User Dungeon) games in Python
• I play guitar

Then I have several other hobbies, but they are less practices less prolifically. (coin collecting, investing, cooking / smoking meats, etc)

Hmm, Telegram is usually pretty good. I can ask some of my friends on there if they have any group chats for that stuff.

I listed my hobbies' earlier in the thread. He didn't eliminate them, but the place turned into a trash heap of hate and anger and fighting.

I have apprehension to fighting and constant bickering. This is why you don't find me in the Cowboys (football) sections of this forum now or for many many many years before I departed before.

I don't watch reality TV because that's all it is. I don't want TV in general except Star Trek. Don't watch the stupid biased news casts. Basically I try to avoid asshats in general. I've blocked more than a few on here.
