This is why a McCarthy extension is entirely possible. There may not be the line that Jerry thinks there will be. “Dallas Cowboys” or not, it’s a bad situation to work in.

It’ll be Moore, McCarthy or a guy that no one else would even consider hiring as HC, like a Rex Ryan. Guess Zimmer has to be thrown in.

Jets would be a toss up IMO, both teams have some major holes to fill. It probably comes down to how Kellen feels about Jerry after he let McCarthy fire him. There could be some bad blood at this point.

Crazy thing is I dont think any of the scenarios you brought up are that far fetched. If the Cowboys can win a few games to end the year and go into the offseason hot Jerry very well may hand McCarthy an extension. Rex Ryan would also be my sleeper pick to enter the mix after the year. He sounds desperate to get one last chance to coach and the Cowboys seemed to really be interested in him for the DC role.
 
Kellen wouldn't be the worst hire ............ he'd bring a lot to the table. Let's be honest, we have to go through the Eagles to win the division going forward. Who better knows how/or what it takes to beat Fangio's defense than Kellen? Plus hiring him takes a major chunk out of their offense.



 
The next HC will be someone who most don’t want, I can almost guarantee that :muttley:

Mike, Zimmer, Kellen…….it won’t make a difference in the end. It would have been nice to start fresh at HC and QB but that pipe dream is dead. My best scenario is to ride it out for 2-3 years then go all-in for Manning Have an offensive minded HC waiting for him with solid trenches in place.
 
Did Moore stick with the run? The Eagles had 2 possesions in the 3rd, both three and outs. Only one called running play.

Granted, that's a small selection to make any conclusion, but if Tucker doesn't miss (twice), then the Ravens are likely up 20-14 going into the 4th.
 
Good football doesn't have to be complicated football.

In Philly, KM has Hurts (a sluggish processor who struggles throwing over the middle), a stud RB, and a top notch OL. Of course you emphasize the run there. In Dallas, KM had Dak, Cooper, CeeDee, and the corpse of Zeke. Of course you emphasize the pass.

KM's not trying to build an offensive brand or style of anything. He's just putting his team in the best position to succeed and he isn't overthinking it.

Maybe it has more to do with personnel than what Moore wants to do. If you have an elite back, you run him. If your back fails on early-down runs, then you have to pass to the ball more.

Barkley this season has earned the trust that you stick with the run even if it's not working early. Not sure our backs the past few years have done that. Pollard did great as the No. 2 when Elliott's body was breaking down, but we haven't had an elite running game in quite a few years.

My theory on why is running the ball is because it was a mandate from the head coach or front office.

If Kellen was given the opportunity to lead a team I believe he would turn back into pass happy Moore again.

He apparently dazzled Jerry with some football speak that he didn’t understand…probably exactly what Mike did when he got the gig.

Ryan said he would have taken the DC job if they offered more money. Shocker that the known cheapies didn’t want to pay. Would have only been another instance with Jerry picking coordinators and him being the de facto walk around HC…and expecting all to go well.

I do for some reason get the gut feeling that Jerry already knows who the next HC is going to be.

In Kellen's first year, Zeke's attempts dropped after a 1300+ yd season. He constantly went away from the run when it was working, and Zeke still was just shy of 1k rushing yards... some "corpse".
 
The legend of Kellen Moore, comming to a stadium near you...it started out with getting a "Real" QB in Herbert and now he has made Barkley look good....wonder what he could've done with Zeke and this stud Oline..lol. Some of you do deserve Jerry he too thinks Kellen is the Beez Kneez...

Jason Witten is brought in as a disciplinarian who can relate to the locker room.

plus he is going to be cheaper as a first time coach. Jerry doesn't like to spend a lot of money on coaches.

I am not sure many are saying he would be THEIR CHOICE but strong consideration from Jerry
