1: Derrick Harmon, DT, Oregon

Outstanding DT prospect that can align all over the interior in am even or odd front. Can penetrate, achor and stack and shed. Reminds of Muhammad Wilkerson.

2: Luther Burden, WR, Missouri

YAC monster with jets to threaten defense's vertically. Reminds me of a better version of Brandon Aiyuk coming out back in 2020. Aiyuk maxed out and became a #1 WR. Burden has that potential and would be an elite #2 opposite Lamb and would take alot of attention away

3: Walter Nolen, DT, Ole Miss

Neck and neck with Pearce here. Nolan gets the nod because its hard to find quality 3T prospects. Nolan really put it together this year with 7 sacks. He could be a Madubuike type player

4: James Pearse, DE, Tennessee

Explosive edge rusher. If he was 10 pounds heavier right now he might be a top 10 pick. Wouldn't shock me if he is anyways. By year 2 or 3 will probably be about 265. Could be one of the better all around ends in the NFL. Reminds me a bit of Josh Allen

5: Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan

Grants stock is going to be interesting. Probably wont be much of a 3 down player his first year. However he has exceptional athleticism for his size, and should develop into a Daron Payne type player. He has been able to rush the passer at UM, but does on on athleticism. Needs to develop more of a pass rush arsenal in the pros

Some notes:

- I have Mykel Williams and Will Johnson off the board. If we start losing, they become guys to watch

- I dont have Jeanty on their because Im a believer that its not smart to use that kind of capital in a HB. His usage also scares me

- Id like Starks more if the class wasnt strong at premium positions of need. He will probably be drafted in our range, but I cant justify it with the needs we have in the DL and WR

Malakai Starks is a much better prospect than Nolen and Grant imo. I’m not passing on him to fill a need

I have them tiered close to the same. All in the mid first round area. I like Starks, but Im not as high on him as some are

Where do you have Jalon Walker? Hard to figure out if he is an edge or an off the ball linebacker.

Think you have to also put Jeanty on your listing, you may not consider a back so high, but doesn't mean they won't.

I like him as a player, but I wouldn't take him where we would likely be picking. I see him more as an off ball LB that can be used as a pass rusher. That package is nice, but I wouldn't use a top 15 pick on that unless he was Micah special. And Carter isnt imo

I think both Carter/Walker have that potential to become a chess piece that can help your defense out in many ways!

I like Carter much better than Walker. Carter will be gone though, and I just Walker is worth that pick. Walker could wind up one of those guys thats not particularly good at playing LB, and not a dominant player on the edge

I too have Carter ahead of him, but Walker is a very talented, ascending player. Players who can rush, cover and play the run are very valuable. He is definitely going to be within that top15-18 picks.

Abdul Carter will be an NFL edge rusher. Just like Micah, he's too incredibly explosive to take off the LOS.

Walker has more tweener potential, but most defenses don't really use DE/LB tweeners. Belichick and his disciples like those Kyle Van Noy types that can rush or drop into coverage, but most defensive coordinators use a lot stricter roles. Your 4 base rushers are your 4 base rushers.

I'd guess that Walker would be a pure pass rusher for three-quarters of the teams in the league. I'd evaluate him as a DE, unless he gets drafted by some team that has a hybrid role already carved out.

He probably will. Im just saying he is not who I would take for the Cowboys. We need foundational players more than we need chess pieces

We have played Micah 270 total snaps at LB in 2022 and 2023 compared to almost 1,500 at DE in the same. He was a better LB prospect than Walker is. No one was even thinking of him as a rusher until they had no other choice

I don't disagree at all, my focus is stopping run first and foremost, but this is more about best player available.

I just dont see Walker being BPA where were. Of course its all a matter opinion, but I see him more as a in the 20's. I definitely wouldn't take him over Pearce

I like all the players listed, honestly.

Harmon is the one guy I see with war daddy potential - maybe Pearce. The rest look like long-term NFL starters but not really studs. But if we end up the teens, those are the kind of guys that usually get drafted there.

Nolan's production seems to be catching up with his talent. He might be one of the most talented players in the draft, but before this year his production was basically adequate. He is a guy imo that if the lights come on, could outplay his draft spot.

He could also just as easily be a guy with one year of production that becomes the next Odighizuwa
