Did the route-running and playcalling improve?

The play calling was still bad. There have been WR's running open all season the Cowboys don't have a QB that can consistently deliver the ball to them. Last night Cooper completed 26 passes and 20 of them seemed to be no more than 4-5 yards downfield. The dink and dunk passing game once again. He has some nice throws downfield. I just wish he did that more often.

Lol. WRs have been running open all season? Yeah, sure. Show us tapes. I dare you.

Honest question. Did the receivers start running better routes and creating more separation? Did McCarthy starting calling different plays? 8 different players caught a pass last night and even Fluornoy had a pretty solid game.
i don't watch tape, or hold the analysis abilities, but on the surface it really seems to me that Zack was really hurting the line.

- coaching bad
- play calling bad
- roster bad
- GM bad
- rcrvs open all year
- QBs

7-8. Doesn’t add up
Logic is a lost art

So what changed?

I saw a lot of open receivers last night
Offensive Line changed. Started blocking better thanks to the younger guys being allowed to play over the past month. Have helped create a running game which helps our passing game. Very easy to see.

Tale of 2 halves yesterday day. Had a productive 1st half, hold out cd 2nd half and things changed in a hurry. Especially with not being able to run the ball and keep the clock running. 2 miracle plays on defense bailed them out and multiple 50+ yard fgs by butter.

I think it was just time to throw. Pass protection was good most of the night

Why man why??? Why tempt fate? It's almost freaking Christmas! :banghead:

I swear. Someone's getting banned if this thread sees more than one Kurt Warner video.

You have backups, you call a different game. And then you realize wow this works well we should’ve done this all along.
Dank and dunk methodical football wins football games. The dink and dunk opens the deep ball. Sometimes coaching forgets it I think.

I do think ‘rush’s’ game plan would work better with dak.

But in fairness the offense was dink and dunk with dak this year too

CD lamb on a crossing rout in the first quarter I’m thinking if only Cooper Rush lead him it would’ve been a touchdown . CeeDee Lamb is playing outstanding football. He’s catching everything short deep everything. He’s making Cooper Rush look like Patrick Mahomes.

It actually has worked better with Prescott second and third season. They called him the dink and dunk King. And then they opened it up because everybody wanted to be like the Kansas City Chiefs. And we started going backwards.
