Are the players potentially showing their disgust with the ridiculous contract paid Dak and letting Jerry know by playing to a much different level for Rush? I don't know that answer but it bears some consideration. Dak "says" all the right stuff and then basically takes the money with no regard for team building. For the short term, I'd rather see Rush and his NFL second-best quick release (2.3 seconds) than Dak taking a week to read defenses and holding the ball until sundown. Getting rid of it makes up for a lot of deficiency in the OL and at WR. Rush is not the "answer." But, he's more the answer than Dak who has this team in contract purgatory.

Perhaps the rest of the team (the little people), agree?

so is that same mentality through for Lawrence? Hurts? Herbert? Burrows? Murray? is that why Watson is so bad now because the team refuses to play with him

you all are so childish about this stuff. so much highschool girls locker room drama....just create stuff out of thin air!!

Not saying this is even a "Thing." But, please tell us why the noticeable difference in intensity and effort over the last five games whether it be on the O or D? Calling folks "childish" isn't an answer and does nothing to further a discussion.

No. They want to win, and to think they'd play that much harder for Rush, means they're not playing their best with Dak. If that were the case, I wouldn't want any of them on the team.

I love level-headed posters like yourself. Since they do much in training camp anymore the team started off out of sync. Learning a new defensive system too. Then injuries hit us like a ton of bricks. Now were seeing the team gel a bit. The win last night was the best of the season so far because the Bucs have a winning record. The wins over the Giants, Panthers, and the overrated Rojoskins, they weren't shocking wins. Like you, I say fire all of them and start over if they weren't playing hard because of Dak's contract. Like Mike Singletary said, you can't win with those type of players.

But I'm happy that we're winning. I would be happy if it was with Dak, or Lance for that matter. I'm a fan of the team with no agenda, like some here have. I want these last two games the most.

GO COWBOYS! :star:

Completely agree.

There is so much going on week to week with game plans, schemes, players health cresting different player combos on the field different match ups favorable and unfavorable) with other teams, players learning curve for what was installed over the offseason/training camp...etc. that impacts performance. To try to simplify a teams performance down to liking or disliking a particular player is Ludicrous...and to be honest, very simple, child like way of thinking about it.

Ditto.....this is elementary......girl fight in the bathroom because Becky got the same shoes that Sally went to the mall and got. SMH, where's the principal? Our base is off the chain and obviously bored or far removed from actual football talk. It's comical by the day. TMZ would turn some of stuff down. I saw Red Bulls replacing water bottles last night near Dak.

NFL players that do not support fellow players getting paid as much as possible are not professionals and will quickly not be welcomed on any of the 32 NFL teams. Your suggestion is absurd. It’s idiotic Cowboys fans fantasy.

Athletes are keenly aware of who is & isn't pulling their weight.

They are human so whether intentional or not, it's only natural to put in less effort if you believe your efforts are in vain.

For those of you suggesting that just because they are "professionals" they always conduct themselves with the highest integrity, you really need to read \ watch some stories about what has gone on behind the scenes with many teams.

Tell them to start being high rolled by an Arab oil man and change to golf.

Dak had a career best 2.3 seconds quick release all of last season and was ranked among the best Defense readers. Pretty much destroys this false sudden labeling of his this year.

Don't believe me? Here. Watch Dak's highlight reel for this year. Show where Dak struggles to read defenses or holds on to the ball too long...

You haven't seen enough Kurt Warner videos where he constantly asks "What was Dak thinking?" Dak has ALWAYS struggled with zone defenses since he came into the league. Showing a few highlight plays doesn't make a compelling argument that Dak isn't a very flawed QB.

Yes, zone defenses against a very select good teams have given Dak problems in recent years, but a lot has to do with only having 1 legit weapon at WR as well. The same has been happening to Mahomes throughout all of this season. That's what happens when you lose weapons and your protection is not great.

"Disgust" may be too heavy a word to use.
However, players understand there is a salary cap.
They can view a "pie chart" and easily see where the QB
is taking quite a slice. Once you get passed the WR and a top pass rusher, it's easy to figure you're not gonna get much pie unless you go somewhere else.
Dak is not the leader he is portrayed to be. This happens a lot in every sport. The light shines bright in Dallas.

You would have a point if the rest of the team laid down the first game of the season (vs. Browns)... but they didn't.

I don't think it has anything to do with the contract. One thing that was apparent during the first 8 games was this team had a morale problem and just looked lethargic, totally undisciplined and uninspired. That changed when Rush came in...you can all draw your own conclusions as to why.
