Parsons nuggets on Lamb, Burrow and Daniel

Interesting comment on Daniel.......

Tell them how you see it 30-minute man!

I see: It is much easier to follow the game from the bench taking your timeouts. And its also great to then have something to talk about for your podcast.

Win-Win.

Mahomes makes insane plays constantly. Burrows I think is now elite but he simply does not do what Mahomes does.
Having said that, Reid is the one that built the team around Mahomes. Like BB did around Brady.
It is called synergy; neither one would be as great without the other.

Except we’ve seen Reid never be great without mahomes. He’s been very very good but he wasn’t great until he had mahomes. Couldn’t get over that hump before him. On the other side- put mahomes with the ravens and harbaugh, San Fran and shannahan, McDermott and buffalo, he’d be a champion.

Brady also won without bb whereas bb never reached that pinnacle before or after either. I believe in synergy, I believe in great pairs but mahomes is another level, as was Brady

To be fair about CeeDee, he's never played with a great QB, so it's hard to compare him against receivers who have had a QB who could hit a receiver on the run.
He never really had a top-notch #2 receiver either since he became #1.

Ditto. "composure when it matters the most" is a biggy of which we are all painfully aware and Burrows/Mahomes both have it plus the arm talent to be elite,,, Mahomes just has that arm talent at a slightly higher level though.
If Burrow played for Andy Reid in KC they might have more SBs. Mahomes is great, but I think JB would be better in that situation.

Put Mahomes here and what happens?

You need a top coach and a top QB
one without the other does not get it done
Rodgers is a sure fire first ballot HOF QB but only has one ring
Brees is also going into the HOF with only one ring
I guarantee you if eitehr one of them had been with either Reid or BB they would have gotten more than one ring

He raises the entire teams ceiling more so than any other quarterback in the league- and more so than any of the other coaches you mentioned by themselves without mahomes would.

No discredt to Cee Dee at all, but #4 had something to do with Cee Dee getting his new contract and in turn the same......hand-in-hand. If this were golf, tennis, 'rasslin', or as a MLB starting pitcher....you might have the argument. But it ain't. It don't work like that.' C'mon!

Is this a subtle way of discrediting our starting QB, or are you referring to what it would be like with our backup QB behind center all year.

Outside of Mahomes......who is considered a great QB, in the NFL, today?....Burrows?.....Allen?......Lamar?......who? Just wondering.

I love Burrow. I watched a handful of games their national title year & was impressed but wasn't really sold on the accolades he was getting. So, I went back & watched clips from the entire season and quickly understood why he was getting the respect. He is the best I have ever seen at working the pocket & getting off pinpoint accurate passes with bodies all around him. Most QB's would give up on the play & go into the fetal position.

Josh Allen is a monster. Guy who has taken his god given abilities and learned how to harness them at the NFL level. I honestly think he's just now learned how to balance his talents to what his team needs.

Having said that, Mahomes is not only the best QB currently, he's the best we have ever seen. He has all the physical & mental gifts of the other greats rolled up into one package. Yeah, you can say this guy might have a slight edge on one thing & another guy another but as a complete package, no one puts it all together like he does.
Believe it or not......Josh Allen's numbers are rather pedestrian, in comparison to Burrows and a guy you failed to mention at all.....Lamar Jackson. And he's certainly feasting off a regular weak division. Hmmm.

The post I was responding to only mentioned those players.

I know the Bills have been more balanced but the plays Josh makes are elite even if he isn't piling up the stats. My point about Josh was that he came from small school & had the most to learn. Seems he now understands when to put on the cape & when to play within the team framework.

I think all three of them are worthy of the award. When I think of which team would be least able to win games without their QB, I lean toward Burrow. To me, that's how the MVP should be thought about.

Burrows is ballin' for sure.....but the team record will do him in, if we follow suit. Not his fault, nor is it Lamar Jackson's or Josh Allen's. Doubt Ravens or Bills do well without their QBs too. Fair enough.

Maybe; but enough to win multiple SBs?

so no difference then between Ginger and MM and Jimmy?
really?

That's my issue with how the award is issued. Team record shouldn't be a primary component. If anything, the MVP should probably come from less successful teams more often than not.

Ravens & Bills have solid Olines & running games & better defenses though. You could put a lesser QB in & still have some success. Not the same by any means but they would still function. At least that's my take.

I’m not sure what straws you’re grasping at. You put mahomes on any team and the team is a contender he’s that good. McCarthy and Johnson are good and great coaches respectively, garret is not. However you give Garrett mahomes and he becomes much better.
