You see the last three are significantly lower, unless a special prospect falls, you avoid taking these positions in rd 1.

I like your thinking but I wouldn’t necessarily “avoid” them but instead not prioritize them, which is what I think you are saying.

Jeanty at 15 when your board got wiped out is a very good pick.

Trading down from 15 to the early 20s and adding Tyler Warren is adding a very good player.

Jamar Gibbs and Brock Bowers are impact players for their teams.

It was a coordinated effort by NFL Owners to lower the RB pay, so the Owners intentionally skewing the pay scale doesn't really give a true measure of the importance of the position.

However, there is a surplus of RBs via FA and draft this season, so spending a 1st rounder on a RB may not be the best approach. I do think Ashton Jeanty is worth a 1st round pick for the right team.

As I mentioned, if a "special" prospect falls, you consider taking the lesser valued, positional player.

I believe Jeanty is a special back and should be drafted in the 1st rd, if not top 10.

Preach! I do love Starks as an option for us though…he brings more to the table than a traditional safety.

Don’t want to draft Jeanty but if the board is wiped Ill get on board.

Interesting DT is above CB, and LB is 2nd. Cowboys have needs at both DT and LB, if you had to go defense which position you picking in the 1st?

We need more of an off the ball linebacker which come cheaper on the open market and can be found on day 2, early day 3.

The top 20 in sacks are split between the OLB and DE. I am surprised that they lump all LBs into one spot. That should actually DEVALUE the LB position but apparently not.

If the best player is an Edge, CB or DT I’m on board. Don’t think there’s a top 20 LBr in the class.

Linebacker. Campbell is a first rounder. There's no world where LVE was a first rounder and Campbell isn't. It's just people following what experts say. Similar to the Kincaid/LaPorta stuff.

Kincaid has been decent but Laporta is a star.

Would to see us grab a Jay Higgins type. Not an elite athlete but instincts off the charts.

Haven’t had that kind of player since Lee.

Fingers crossed on Marist.

That is the key trait for both linebacker and safety

Most FRP QBs are busts. I dont want to argue stupid stats...if you can prove that the numbers are slightly skewed in FRP favor based on todays starters...whatever. But, my opinion seems to be that most FRP QBs and most QBs are busts....I would add QB to the red.

If nothing else...I would add QB as red because the chances of a blue chip defender or WR panning out with an FRP is, what I assume to be, far greater than a QB.

I would rather use FRP's on HIGHER CHANCE OF PANNING OUT blue/prospects than QB's.

This board has to choose its angles, and FRP QB is the one area that the Cowboys have been smart, imo...but this board scrambles to come up with excuses to hate on Jerry/QB and want to patch this hole within the matrix and the Cowboys. The Cowboys not wasting picks on QB and scoring with Tony and Dak is in Jerry's favor and the Matrix hates it. It wants to say that the Cowboys are not smart for not choosing a QB in the first round...but struggles to compete and come up with a way to knock that philosophy.

I think they have a "edge rusher " category because it skews LB values

Remember, franchise tag's represent top 5 at the position. Nobody is going to sign an off the ball linebacker for that price tag. However, didn't the Bears sign away the Bills linebacker 2 two ago in that range?
