Lions looked like they peaked early but I don’t want either of those coaches.

Did Washington sour on Quinn after Green Bay …. Injury’s destroyed that defense.
Quinn is a good coach that looks like a hero because they hit big on Daniels in the draft. Literally drafted a generational talent at the most important position on the team.

Meanwhile, we will pay Dak 60 million per while Daniels is on a cheap rookie deal. Prepare to be unhappy for several more years.

Not really but maybe a little more Johnson than Glenn because Johnson's offense did not have the excuse of multiple starter injuries that Glenn's defense did.

I think Johnson would not do as well here based on lack of personnel as compared to his stacked offense with the Lions.

Glenn might could do decently here with Parsons as his cornerstone but I am not sure if he would ultimately lower himself to be a yes man, Jerry Puppet Way of head coaching.
So he's probably not a genuine candidate.

It did for both, but only a little.

I'd still take either of them over the other confirmed options, but I had had Glenn as my top choice. Now, I'd rather Johnson be the HC with a strong DC. The modern NFL is offense. We need to think offense first.

I'm not saying that Daniels will not be the next Brady or Mahomes, but even Dak looked great his rookie year. And let's not forget RGlll. Daniels is a rookie this year. Did he have some pressure this year? Yes he did. But next year the expectations will be through the roof. Let's wait to crown him until we see how he handles that.

This is not pushing for or against any coach, but I did want to point out that the Lions lost several important defensive players during the season, including their star pass rusher and a couple of defensive backs and I think a starting linebacker. Then, they lost a cornerback right at the start of the game.

None of that excuses the offensive turnovers of course, but it's not surprising to see the Lions give up a lot of points with the injuries they had on defense.

In the end though, the Commanders still had to take advantage and they did.

I soured on Johnson, but I was never really high on him to begin with. But those trick plays he pulls out of his backside are not what I would want from a team with the best OL in football, and so much talent at the skill positions. And that is the thing. If that offense good because of Ben Johnson's scheme or play calling? Or because they have so many good players?

Washington's defense is not that great. They are worse than Dallas giving up rushing yards (per game). It's true they scored enough points to win many games, but last night it was clear 31 would not do. Washington scored that much in the first half.

I thought Glenn called a good game but he ran into a young QB who was deadly accurate with his throws and did not get rattled by pressure. The Lions defense could not keep up with the Commanders determination to win the game. They had just too many injuries. I believe the Lions was missing 3 of 4 starting DL, including their best pass rusher, and they were missing a lot of their secondary. It makes a difference. Can we every forget how the Eagles exploited Andrew Booth when they faced Dallas?

I am not sure I would offer Glenn a HC job just yet, but I don't fault him for the loss last night. The Lions seem to be one of those teams that gets into the spotlight and does something stupid to mess it all up. Again, the focus on trickery always seems to come back to hurt them.

Ben definitely not going to do much at LV when the TE is the only thing they have on O.

Yup, and if you compare that to the past Cowboys teams, it only took one major injury to tank the year. I'm not pushing for or against any HC either, but coaching and ownership matters. I think MM could have been a more successful coach here, but not under the Jones'.

Glenn>>>>

Ben Johnson let Jameson Williams throw their season away down 10 and stopped running the ball when Gibbs was averaging 10 ypc

They also played one of the weakest schedules in the league this year. And not sure how many times they won on the last drive , as time was expiring, or on a flukey play you rarely or never see too. I remember 4 or 5 of those type games - so luck was on his side often this year too. You are so right, once you find your QB it makes things much easier.

Turnovers had nothing to do with the spanking.
