Archer: Scottie Montgomery (DET RB coach) interviewing for OC

The team has to integrate commitment to elevating the run game balance upon an opponent.

There is still a strength in the roster for the offensive line. Commitment with Adams supports that leadership. Then the dynamics are improved most strongly in balancing attacking an opponent with a top level running back in the draft. Not just show up quality.

I like your thinking here. They've yet to use the assistant head coach title, so its kind of like their [t-word] card.
So, you agree, this sounds legal? I know it's been done, I just don't know if there are any details in the rules that would make this situation not work.

According to reports from ESPN Cowboys insider Todd Archer, Dallas has interviewed Detroit Lions running backs coach Scottie Montgomery for the position.
Montgomery began his coaching career as a wide receivers coach at Duke in 2006 and stayed at the college level for the next 14 yards before making his way to the NFL. He was then hired by the Colts as the running backs coach in 2021 where he stayed for two seasons. He then joined the Lions coaching staff in 2023 as the assistant head coach and running backs coach.

Shelby, NC stand up!! He was a disaster as a HC at ECU but seems to have rebounded nicely. But tbf, I think I could coach up the two Lions RBs

Hire both.......interestingly Campbell doesn't want him as Johnson's replacement (OC )

Hire one as the OC and the other as Running Game Coordinator so they both get a promotion to move.

I'm relatively sure you can hire the other as Asst HC no problem. I'm not as certain that a Running Game Coordinator comes with the same consideration, but I'm fine with being wrong about that, absolutely. Somewhat semantics anyways.

Add Jeanty and Brashard Smith from SMU in the draft.
use 2 draft picks on RB's i dont know Rambo we will see how FA goes...they have some late round picks though so maybe but Jeanty is gonna be a pick that fills a major need else where if they sit on thier hands in FA again...

I like the sound of this
Me too. Sounds like an effort is being made to assemble a dream staff. Right now I'm thinking they are trying to build a young up and coming staff to grow with the young guys we have and the new guys that we will draft. This bolds well for the next 4 years at least. This is the way to build something special that can compete.

Yes, you can book it. 35 draftable backs available.

Actually, Montgomery comes with an Eberflus endorsement probably... just discovered that the two were on staff together in IND.

And he's hopefully got some Campbell traits, which, by extension, would be Parcells traits.

He's a NC guy like me!

I wouldn't mind poaching a guy off of that staff, but he needs some talent to work with.

Sounds like another up and coming prospect. They've also requested Falcons TE coach. Both would meet Rooney rule.
