Saints expected to hire Kellen Moore as HC

KC was small market /low attention team until the right (mild-mannered) coach and QB showed up.
Dallas is a big market/Huge attention team and hasn't win anything in 30 years.
The New York Jets haven't won anything in 55 years
Indy and NO were always in the thick of things when they had the right QB, and both won superbowls since the Cowboys and the Jets.
I'm not saying KM is going to be Vince Lombardi, but I think you are focusing on the wrong things.

Exactly. The Pats were a league afterthought until Brady and BB showed up to dominate the league for 20 years.

I hope Kellen pulls a Sean Payton with them...more embarrassment for Jerry.
 
Long term, I think it's the wrong move if Kellen takes a job in New Orleans, but that's only my opinion.

This is what people aren't talking about. You just have to know Jerry wanted to hire Moore and may have made him an offer, but Kellen told Jerry he wasn't interested. Wow! What a slap in Jerry's face. Give credit to Kellen for knowing how bad this roster is, the bad contracts, inheriting Dak, horrible incompetent management and Jerry having 100% control. I was never a Kellen fan, but do hope he does well in NOLA.
 
No one wanted KM except Dallas kinda then Philly. Now he's going to be a HC lol. Prediction, he will flame out down in New Orleans in less than 2 years. That guy is purely a decent play caller but not a leader of men. This will be proven quickly if he's the new HC.

I'm just a fan with no inside knowledge but I suspect Moore had that lined up in advance knowing things were falling apart with McCarthy. I suspect McCarthy wanted Moore out for whatever reason (fear that Moore would take his job, wanted to do his own play calling are common theories I've read) and the "mutual" part of the decision was based on the fact that Moore found another gig. In the end, Moore "took" McCarthy's HC job but in a different city which is funny for those that believe McCarthy feared Moore taking his job in Dallas.
 
In about 3 years Moore will be back at Boise st. As the HC. Out of the NFL.

While I agree I don’t think it’ll work but for different reasons (bad ownership, Mickey Loomis, roster is a mess and cap is worst in the league), Doug Pederson was once called the worst coaching hire of the year. Nick Sirianni was expected to be fired partway through his first year as he was seemingly in over his head based on his opening press conference, Demeco Ryan’s was viewed by many as being named a HC too soon, Sean Mcvay was way too young and didn’t have enough credentials when he was hired, Sean McDermott was seen as “nobody better was available” and he’d be a transition coach for the next real hire, John Harbaugh was a special teams coach who didn’t even deserve his interview much less the job.

Sometimes, you never know how it’ll go
 
His head coaching career might be over before it even starts.

One of the worst job openings I have seen in years.

Wish him nothing but the best, but it doesn't look pretty.
