I probably don't need to re-emphasize who the real stars of the SB were but I will anyway. The egirls (who I hate) have made it crystal clear what their cornerstones are on their team that they rely on MOST: Their trench players - OL and front 7 on D. They are hands down the league’s best. They had 6 ALL PROS this year and 4 of them were either OL, DL or LBs.

In fact if anyone really studies what Philly’s most simplified formula for winning is look no further than guys like DT Jalen Carter, LG Landon Dickerson, RT Lane Johnson, LT Jordan Mailata, LB Zack Baun, and NT Jordan Davis. Those guys dominate the LOS and make it much easier for Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley and AJ Brown to make plays. Two of the three skill position guys - Barkley and Brown - were both FA acquisitions, not draft picks.

As we begin to prepare for the off-season with FA and the draft, I hope this front office can once and for all learn the real cornerstones we need aren’t just WRs, RBs and QBs. It’s like Jerry still thinks the only reason we were so dominant in the 90s was because of “The Triplets”. Sure that helped to have Troy, Emmitt and Michael but without Mark Tunei, Nate Newton, Erik Williams, and Charles Hailey, the Cowboys don’t win 3 SBs in the 90s.

I know we need a RB, and second WR, but honestly IMO, we need to use a lot of early draft capital acquiring some beasts. Getting good RBs and WRs are way easier than top tier trench players.

I hope our FO can finally learn triplets are only as good as the people who block and tackle in support of them.

I don't disagree with the premise, but if you look at the last few years, the only pick in the first four rounds not in the front seven is Tolbert. and he was a third rounder. (That's counting the two TEs as front players.)

We've spent the draft picks on the fronts. Some of the players (like Mazi) just haven't been very good.

It’s a fair point Choc but just because we’ve missed on some of those picks doesn’t mean we should stop trying.

The Eagles have been building their model for a few years..........two names put them over the top, Barkley AND Fangio. Barkley added to an offense with top 3 OLine, TWO 1000 yards WRs, top 10 TE and a top 10QB with the mindset and physicality of an RB. It took a few games for them get Fangio's scheme down pat but boy, they were a machine by the Super Bowl. I hate to say it, but their team now reminds me of the '90s Cowboys.
The difference as stated they have been building for a while vs Jerry damn near stripped this in one season and now we are back to square one.

The problem is teams like the Eagles, Ravens, and Rams draft players to add to their plan. Jerry drafts players to replace to players lost via free agent with NO plan. Just plugging holes around a group high priced court players.

Different teams win in different ways. Our drafts have not been bad. Drafting for need may bite you in the shabazz.

Not for anything but under Garrett that was Garrett’s whole mantra to build a bruising OL, Jerry was the GM during that time so don’t understand how Jerry gets pissed on again when that is exactly what they did.

Strong emphasis on these positions I hope, I hope these new coaches push really really hard to get these guys

This years Eagles are such a mirror image of the 1992 Cowboys.

--Dominant o-line
--Dominant defense
--Dominant RB
--Skilled receivers
--QB considered more of a bus driver surrounded by talent
--Fairly simple offense scheme coached to outperform through superior technique combined with brute strength on the lines.

This was a complete team from top to bottom. Barkely was a nice piece but he's the same guy we saw running in NY for 5 years and didn't make a dam bit of difference. The Eagles offense was just the perfect fit for him. Same for Fangio. It was a marriage of great talent meeting great coaching. Neither of them alone makes a Super Bowl winning anywhere else.

our drafting would have to be perfect to make up for the lack of FA's brought in
Too bad Jerry won't hire some help. We have a lot of experts around here.

One of there top scouts went to school with me, he's down for the weekend. If I see him, I'm gotta put in a good word for some of our zoners. I think, they can really help

We are better with DE but our ability to find DT has been awful for a long time. Jerry seems to have some weird vision of what big men like that are. His ability to find talented stable big men is challenged. I think about Underwood, Haley, Lett, Ratliff, and Irving with all their struggles.

Agreed and Philly is so far ahead of our roster (regardless of how “close” Dak thinks we are) that’s it’s depressing. The Jones Cartel will never figure it out that’s for sure.

Jerry gets criticism for his RESULTS. Playoff wins. That’s what matters. We’ve had 4 in 25 seasons. Facts.

Remember when this was a site for Cowboys fans? All I ever read anymore is how great the Eagles are...
Are Cowboys fans supposed to pretend the egirls aren’t an outstanding team? While simultaneously pretending the Cowboys are outstanding as well? I love the Cowboys which is exactly why I’m frustrated by having these results we keep getting with the same man in charge.

I stated in the OP early on that I hate the egirls. But it doesn’t mean I can’t be a Cowboys fan by speaking the truth. Right now they are way better than us. I don’t like it but it’s a fact.

And this is the perfect place for Cowboys fans to state their opinions about the team and its opponents. Let’s hear some of your Cowboys opinions.
