Eagles release CB Darius Slay

Former college teammate of Dak.

Doubt he comes here.

I see how this goes

We sign him “oh wow an aging vet we need to get younger he’s on the decline”

Another team signs him “Jerry and Son suck we could’ve gotten a CB in his prime who hasn’t let up a touchdown in 30 years smh another failed season”

Sign him now. Ok I know I know never is going to happen.
Could he be like Stephen Gilmore, come in to help out for a year. Especially with Diggs probably starting the season PUP. If not traded or released.

This isn't the first time. They've managed to bring him back for a cheaper price before.

So this shows us how Howie Roseman intends to avoid the CAP timebomb set to go off in 2029. He is going to draft replacements a year before he releases they guys they will replace. Bradberry is a free agent this year so he will be gone as well. The Eagles planned this perfectly selecting DeJean and Mitchell last year.

Exactly. This is what having the support of your owner to build out succession plans allows you to do. Whether it's at CB, DL or OL, it helps younger (and cheaper) guys to learn from vets before replacing them.
