This looks like another needs draft.

I think the Cowboys first round pick is wide open. It could be one of 10 players. Linebacker and cornerback is a blinking red light unless they believe Diggs/Overshown make it back early. After seeing the money that cornerbacks have received, there is no way the Cowboys cut Diggs. He is actually a bargain.
I think we’ll find out via the 30 visits what they’re leaning towards.

I think DE, WR and CB probably top the list and if Jeanty is there he’d be the most Jerry pick of all time.

Tolbert 610 yards, 7 TDs in 2024, cap hit in 2024 of 1.4 million

Kupp, 710 yards, 6 TDs, Cap hit in 2024 over 14 million.

I don't see it.
Kupp would be a typical Cowboys signing. Aging vet WR who used to be a stud but is a shrine of his old self.

He wouldn’t move the needle at all for me unless you tell me it’s an incentive based deal and we’re getting someone like Tet at 12.

What are we going to do at linebacker? What would you do?

Tolbert???    Ask the Eagles who they would rather play against.
They probably wouldn't face Kupp considering he has missed 18 games in the last 3 years.

You can pretend he is 27yo Kupp, but that doesn't make it true.

You can pretend Tolbert is even in the same space as well.

Right now, this team is worse than what we put out on the field last season. It's unfair for the Cowboys to think that we're going to hit heavy in the draft and expect rookies to play major roles for us to start the season. Are we asking too much and being unfair to these rookies? I know you can't sign everyone you want in free agency, but I feel like we're relying too heavily on rookies to play vital roles for our team, when some should be brought in slowly instead of thrown right into the fire! Please give your thoughts
It has been much of the same thus far. I understand everyone's frustration, but why create cap space if they aren't going to use it? I think moves are forthcoming, just hope it isn't on more bottom feed type of contracts. Think many are need to see it to believe it, which I will join if this looks the same after the weekend.

I would’ve signed Robert Spillane / Dre Greenlaw.

At this point Kendrick’s is probably your best option to bring back as a vet so might as well. I don’t think there’s a LBr in the class that warrants the 12th pick so keep an eye out for in the 2-5th and move along.

Sucks we missed on greenlaw. Word is he was very close to signing with us.

Talk me off the ledge guys. I am an idiot I know. I thought maybe we would grab a running back, wide receiver, linebacker, guard, defensive tackle, and cornerback in free agency so we wouldn’t have reach for need in the draft. I know it’s early and there is plenty of trash to pick through but the free agency class stinks. The Cowboys cleared all this cap space and signed guys they could have gotten a month from now.

With the first 3 picks the Cowboys will probably draft a cornerback, linebacker, and running back in some order. So depending on how the draft plays out they are going to have to reach or be dependent on the teams in front of the Cowboys to make a mistake. The Cowboys will probably miss out on a stud wide receiver, defensive end or defensive tackle. This is a frightening scenario. I hope I am wrong. Please someone give me hope.
Well, to talk you off the proverbial ledge, we need a WR, DL and OL.

I hope they focus on those positions and draft a back in later rounds.
