TRADED Cowboys trading for Titans LB Kenneth Murray Jr.

Really? What’s the plan? Sign backups on 1 yr deals and trade for former 1st rounders that were busts with low round picks? Just trying to figure it out
I think you answered your own question. Signing backups to 1 year deals and trading low picks for players drafted in the first round. It sounds like you’re not a fan of this plan, which is cool. I like this idea because I like the idea of trading low round picks for players drafted in round 1.

You never know what a change in coaching and scenery can do for a player. Sam Bradford was considered a bust and went to the Vikings and had a pretty impressive season.

I’m usually pretty hard on Jerry and Air Quotes about everything they do but today was a good day and I feel our FO did some good things today. I am not going to dislike the moves just because Jerry made them. I feel it was a solid day and unlike last year it seems we have a plan. This is a different vibe from last year at this exact time.

He’s been in the league 5 years.

Name the last former 1st rounder this team has brought in that has done anything.

It was Amari cooper. They have brought in many since. Nothing.
This guy had his best year last year in a new place, so I’m not sure why you’re pooping on the move, it’s cheap and it seems like there could be some hope that he’ll have a good year.

Folks are just jaded.

The Cowboys were very high on Murray when he was coming out.

Murray is a good solid LB. You traded him for what, a 6th round pick.?

If you took a LB in the 6th you would be jumping head over heels if he played as well as Murray does.

That’s really how folks need to look at this.
This is why I don't really have a problem trading late-round picks. The hit rate on late-rounders is very low. Now, you can hit big and that's why you use them, but most players taken in the later-rounds are going to be backups at best and roster fillers or cuts at worst.

Respect the opinion completely man! Thanks for the response. But I don’t see the difference from other years to make an improvement because many are bottom of the rankings on what they’ve accomplished. We also lost some guys. To me it seems like reshuffling. I’m not mad because Jerry did it. I just prefer wildcatter Jerry to this one which takes a backseat to Stephen. I just think this still puts us in a hole come draft time

I do t know why people are dumping on this move. This guy was a real stud coming out of OU.

Sometimes a change of scenery really helps a player thrive. Low risk/high reward move. If the Cowboys believe he can play, then they might extend him on the cheap early.
Because he lacks instincts. Instincts are instrumental for LBs.

It’s so funny. I poke in now and then during this time and it’s the same people making the same repeated snarky comments they have been making about every move for 20 years. Lmao never change guys.
Actually closer to 30 years, and if you have watched, they have mostly been correct.

and yet he was easily dumped
so no not a real strong recommendation

The more I watch the film on him the more I like the move, recommend following Akoye on Twitter to get a better understanding of his scheme responsibilities

wow they really must have some intel, kudos to the analytics or whatever scouting team if this guy hits, he better if he's the highest paid LB on the team
