Where did you read they want to trade for Sutton?Rumblings are they wanna trade for courtland Sutton. If they do, they would need to pay him. Plus, they are working on Micah deal. Whatever they don't use, they may be wanting to roll it over to 2026.
I saw the story on Mike Fishers yt channel. He heard it somewhere too. Dunno how true it is.Where did you read they want to trade for Sutton?

The dudes market value is 26M. I'm not sure that would be a good idea for a 30 year old WR.I saw the story on Mike Fishers yt channel. He heard it somewhere too. Dunno how true it is.
I don't think they will part with him but if they did it would make sense.
He would probably get 20m per year which seems pretty reasonable.
If they move back to 20 and get Denver's 4th as well I would do it. That's a high 3rd 250 point gain in draft capital for Denver but it also gives Dallas a 4th which they really need.
#NFLCreditCardWhy do some of you think that blowing money in FA is going to fix everything? The ignorance and stupidity of some fans just blows my mind!!
Yup.After the draft, some players will get released. They could look to fill some holes with vet players.
Right now about 73 on the roster, with 9 draft picks, if they use them all. Puts them at 82, so 8 spots open for UDFA's.
Look for 3 to 5 on the current roster getting released, opening up for vet FA's, and more UDFA's.
You're out of your mind!!!! There's plenty of free agents BEGGING Jerry to pay them below the league minimum, Jerry is just being patient but trust me he's got his eyes on ALL OF THEM!!!We have around $30 million in usable cap space right now. When Parsons contract is done, that number will actually go up.
Problem is there is no one left in FA that is really worth serious cap money.
NOW if we could trade for someone with a big cap hit, it would be worth it.
But you know this brain dead FO will not do anything.
We'll be doing the same thing next yearThis front office purportedly signs fill-ins so that they are not locked into having to prioritize a position in the draft because they don't have a "capable" starter. They have taken care of that, so they likely won't add anyone else until after the draft and possibly not until they see how it goes in camp.
Elam replaces Lewis.
Scott replaces Edoga.
Williams replaces Dowdle.
Sanders replaces Elliott.
Turner replaces Lawrence.
Thomas replaces Golston.
Murray replaces Kendricks.
Sanborn replaces Vigil.
Campbell replaces Cooks.
Fowler replaces Lawson.
About the only position where we don't have a fill-in is backup QB, so I expect us to sign one of those at some point, but we're probably done with the rest for now.
Yep, this is the central strategic thinking around their roster building (on the cheap). I suppose the problem is that it's a limited strategy to hide behind, rather than a risky speculative move to improve....after all we NEVER trade away or let the ELITE/BETTER players hit FA, so our Compensatory Picks are seldom higher than a couple of 5ths.Yeah I was thinking exact same thing but was listening to Jeff Cavenagh explain that if they sign or trade for a guy for an amount of over 3.5mill per year to replace a guy that they lost, they then lose any compensary pick they may have gotten had they just lost the guy to free agency to another team.
The deadline for that is the date of the draft. So basically after the draft, this is no longer in effect and they can sign whomever they want without losing comp picks.
So obviously Cowboys, as well as other teams, will wait til after the draft to sign free agents they think will make it.
.
No, the problem is, that we're so bereft of talent THROUGHOUT the roster, that one magic bullet isnt going to move the needle and if it does, all it does is make us RELEVANT.We have around $30 million in usable cap space right now. When Parsons contract is done, that number will actually go up.

I don’t think the team has a choice. No, the problem is, that we're so bereft of talent THROUGHOUT the roster, that one magic bullet isnt going to move the needle and if it does, all it does is make us RELEVANT.
Jerry, is hoping (because that's the strategy blueprint), to build something around the drafts and Lightening in a Bottle, once regarded FA's and an elite core.
2025, is a holding year, to 'hope' for big bounce backs from: Dak, recent Draft Classes, and these (once regarded) prospects we've just picked up.
I totally get that he could/should spend something, but where and what purpose, we arent winning anything in 2025. My bigger concern is that Jerry cant do extremes (ideal opportunity after GB to go ALL-IN v TEAR DOWN), and if 2025 see's no upward shift (with new coaching), is he able to accept that he needs to step aside and enact a tear-down.
With that, send a wake up flare up the day that the agent gives up trying to replace Musk.
I'll be smiling everyday knowing that you'll be facing this every day for the next 4 years....its just getting revved up.'presidential' qualities: 3 wives and 8 confirmed mistresses...c'mon - Cowboys!
Yea, but the choice is the ability to evaluate what we have and then: extend, trade or run-down the contract, with a view to a set time to be actively challenging.I don’t think the team has a choice.
The draft gives them a 4 year window with a player.
Sorry, previous long winded. Yep we have no choice, 2025 is suck it and see, see who Schott will like and move onto 2026.....and pointing out that whilst the CAP maybe $50m in credit, he has to: account for Micah's first big year post signing bonus lower CAP HIT, rollover money and start planning to extend Bland and Tyler ......because we all know that's what he'll do, he has to follow his blueprint (sign ALL top players, despite every other team trading top stars, especially when their QB gets expensive).I don’t think the team has a choice.
The draft gives them a 4 year window with a player.
The Eagles went from a total implosion to winning the SB in one offseason. They did it rather easily too. The Cowboys were just as good or better than the Eagles in 2023. How did the two teams sprint in opposite directions? IMO it's their team building philosophy. No, the problem is, that we're so bereft of talent THROUGHOUT the roster, that one magic bullet isnt going to move the needle and if it does, all it does is make us RELEVANT.
