Why no more signings. Don't we have 40 million in space?

Yep.
Jerry has already said earlier about last year's 2 good impact FA signings in Dak and CD's contracts were a good thing last year..
And then followed it up with if they can do that one more time (with Micah) this year, that it would be a good thing.

That's the precursor for Micah to getting his mega deal and dealing with less than optimum free agents all over the place once again.

The Cowboy Way has been firmly established.
With that, send a wake up flare up the day that the agent gives up trying to replace Musk.

All fine if it’s tied into some sort of rebuild plan, but it isn’t. Either you’re trying to win now or you’re not. These two probably think they can pull off some middle ground thing.
Being relevant and hanging around the rim, baby!
Haven't you learned the teams strategy yet?

Everyone executed their plan, Dallas included.

No one is out there that would make much of a difference. That’s over.
I think Keenan Allen and Calais Campbell would really help this team a lot. It's not that I think either is the player they were 5 years ago. It is because of how dreadful they are at run stopping DT and #2 WR. I also think both will sign for an amount that matches their age. Campbell may retire and even if he doesn't I don't think he wants to sign before August but he was fantastic at stopping the run at his advanced age last year. I'm not sure either wants to sign with Dallas at this point of their careers. If I were either of them I'd chase a ring. But, that is just an example of two players who would make a difference IMO

The ONLY thing I miss about Garrett was his and Charlotte's constant flirtations with each other during the Draft in the War Room.
It was must-see TV for me.
'presidential' qualities: 3 wives and 8 confirmed mistresses...c'mon - Cowboys!

That 40MM is Parson's money and for our drafted players.
depending on the contract, Parson's cap hit could actually go down this year. So realistically that is not a factor. At most seven would be needed for the rookies. The money is there; just no will or plan to use it

Yeah I was thinking exact same thing but was listening to Jeff Cavenagh explain that if they sign or trade for a guy for an amount of over 3.5mill per year to replace a guy that they lost, they then lose any compensary pick they may have gotten had they just lost the guy to free agency to another team.
The deadline for that is the date of the draft. So basically after the draft, this is no longer in effect and they can sign whomever they want without losing comp picks.
So obviously Cowboys, as well as other teams, will wait til after the draft to sign free agents they think will make it.
.
As of now, projected to get 2 - 5th round comp picks.

After the draft, some players will get released. They could look to fill some holes with vet players.

Right now about 73 on the roster, with 9 draft picks, if they use them all. Puts them at 82, so 8 spots open for UDFA's.
Look for 3 to 5 on the current roster getting released, opening up for vet FA's, and more UDFA's.

Responsibility rests at the top, not all blame.

If on spring break, don't go out over one's knees if the red flag is waving...should be common sense things.

Great point. Thanks

Here is a good video to watch, but if you wanna skip to the part where he explains a little bit about the comp picks - no signing free agents thing, then go to the 6:55 point in the vid
