If you think in terms of sacks, sure. But he got a lot of pressures and was great at stopping the run. I don't think he's a case of pure projection. He needs work, yes, but he can already make splash plays. This is one risk I'd be willing to take at 12.This kid is one to avoid. Great measurable...... has all the physical tools required to be great but he wasn't productive in college. I read he had no sacks in the final 7 games the past 2 years, and he was healthy. I've seen him mocked everywhere from top 5 to round 2. Nobody can figure this guy out.

Marcus Spears was never this type of athlete. Stewart is more athletic than Miles Garrett ever was. You said it best if he hits, Stewart is not just a home run it’s a grand slam. Easily could be the best player in the draft.Yeah I just don't know, he scares me a little. But if he hits, wow it's a home run.
I know his sacks were way below where his numbers say they should have been, but he seems to be a good run defender, which is something we definitely need. And he definitely can get pressure on QB's too. Will he develop beyond just pressures?
I'd say he could have a floor as high as Marcus Spears, solid DE, good at run defense/setting the edge and with some pressures. But he could have a ceiling as high as Miles Garret, being a dominate DE who just wrecks game plans.
I wouldn't hate the pick at 12, but I would be a little uneasy about it.
Yeah I wasn't really comparing atheism, just what type of players they are/could be. Spears was a good run defender who got some pressures. Miles is a game wrecker. He could be either.Marcus Spears was never this type of athlete. Stewart is more athletic than Miles Garrett ever was. You said it best if he hits, Stewart is not just a home run it’s a grand slam. I am sorry I can’t stand Spears ever since he became the Cowboys go to guy on ESPN. He is clueless but he was an athletic freak back in the day.Yeah I wasn't really comparing atheism, just what type of players they are/could be. Spears was a good run defender who got some pressures. It really is apparent when you see some of his plays. He can make insane plays but is so unpolished he can't complete them. In our defence, he can create pressure and rest assured that Micah or Osa will finish the sack. It's a huge risk but man he's talented.I am starting to like Stewart. If he was a Penn St. instead of A&M would he have been on Carter’s level. If the Cowboys are considering Mikel Williams they better be all over Stewart. I for one would trust Stewart over the wide receivers. You can’t teach his natural talent.
I am with you. He easily could be our Jalen Carter with Michah, Osa, and Fowler on 3rd and long. Scary…..It really is apparent when you see some of his plays. Stewart is the type of player the Steelers, Eagles, Ravens tend to steal every draft it seems. There are plenty of dudes drafting in the top 50 that didn’t have a lot of sacks in college that turned into monsters in the NFL.
NFL teams draft for what they think a player can do not what they’ve done. Stewart will 100% be a first rounder.
He screams Packer to me…but yea he’ll probably fall to the Eagles an be an all pro.S

Personally I think Carolina is going to take him at 8He screams Packer to me…but yea he’ll probably fall to the Eagles an be an all pro.
As a Panthers kind of fan living in Charlotte that seems a little rich…I’ve heard Walker to the Panthers.Personally I think Carolina is going to take him at 8
Supposedly according to the Cowboys insiders who don’t want Williams to be drafted by the Cowboys, Carolina likes MikeiI Williams. I actually like Stewart more than Williams. Walker is tweener you have to have a plan for him. Is he a linebacker or a defensive end.As a Panthers kind of fan living in Charlotte that seems a little rich…I’ve heard Walker to the Panthers.
haha oh my I just realized my post auto texted to atheism and not athleticism! Sorry if I offended any heathens out there! lolI am sorry I can’t stand Spears ever since he became the Cowboys go to guy on ESPN. He is clueless but he was an athletic freak back in the day.
Ehh, he's pretty much a Travon Walker clone. Built the same, freak athlete, low sack production due to scheme. A&M like Georgia and most SEC teams don't ask their ends to pin their ears back and get after the QB. It's why you see sack leaders coming out of schools like Marshall, Boston College, Virginia Tech, and James Madison in 2025. The SEC is about stopping the run and dominating the line of scrimmage. Travon Walker had 9.5 career sacks in 3 years at Georgia. Travon Walker has 24 career sacks in 3 years in the NFL. It's scheme, it's coaching, and it's maturity. Whatever the case Stewart has all those ingredients and it's why he won't go the the 3rd round and instead in the 1st round, top 15 pick, and ahead of Mike Green.watch some Mike Green and Shemar Stewart highlights side by side, one guy KNOWs how to get to the QB and the for the other guy the QB might as well be invisible.Stewart is a kind of guy you take in the 3rd RD and hope he can figure out the whole Sack thing.
