Why are concert tickets so expensive and so frustratingly hard to get? Brook Silva-Braga spent a year talking to artists, fans, scalpers, and executives from Ticketmaster and StubHub in search of answers.

Some things can be done to mitigate that. If he's selling tickets through Ticketmaster, he can sell only through the "Verified Fan" program, opt to make the tickets non-transferable and require tickets to be resold at the face value exchange if something comes up & you cannot attend the show. Does it 100% stop scalpers? No. But when you find individuals trying to circumvent that, you cancel the tickets and put them back up for sale. That's what the Cure did.
