TRADED Cowboys trade for Joe Milton

He cant throw.

It’s a problem.

Dude was at the bottom of the draft for a reason.

His draft profile is jacked.
6th round qb picks typically do need work. Not looking for him to be another Brady, but like I said, for a 6th round pick, to be a backup, it was a worthwhile pick.

You could take Milton, Rush and Lance, put em in a bag, shake it up and see which falls out first. None of the above makes one bit of difference to the overall outcome of this team reaching a SB. Why does anyone listen to anything JJ says? Every roster move that’s made should be geared towards upgrading the roster at every position. Unfortunately for our team, the GM has blatantly overlooked the most important position on the field since Aikman retired. Insanity and incompetence defines our FO. Sure….lets all get excited about Joe. Anything to sell more tickets and merchandise. That’s what defines the Dallas Cowboys.
Great and accurate post.

The Patriots apparently don’t want on the roster a quarterback around whom some players and plenty of fans might rally if/when Maye experiences obstacles in the effort to achieve his ceiling. They want Maye to be the guy. If there’s another guy for whom a plausible argument can be made that he’s the guy, it becomes harder for Maye to be and stay the guy.

Go to 1:50… This is a common practice that NFL teams do if you pay attention.

I listened to this earlier. This is the guy that talked about Milton’s work with the VR thing and how he impressed/surprised the Patriots with his development. It’s a good listen if you got the time.

I’m just curious why the hate for this guy before he’s even played a down? For the fans not happy with getting Milton, what is your idea of a prototypical 3rd string developmental QB?

Would the fans that are unhappy with Milton would you have rather used the 12th or 2nd round pick on a QB? If so why? Dak is here for 2 years minimum and most likely 3 years. By that time the rookie QB contract will be almost used up.
I’ve been a fan for 50 years and I’ve never seen backup QBs get as much hate as Lance and Milton. And Milton hasn’t even played yet!

Is this fan base so insecure about Dak that any QB that is athletic is going to be hated? This is kinda weird. It’s almost like fans are cool with QBs signing here that they have a comfort zone with. Rush, Dalton, Grier, Sanchez. Either guys with little ceiling or guys that are on the way down can back up Dak. Any young guys with physical potential is not welcome.

Milton is 6’4, mobile QB, who can throw the ball 80 yards, won a game in the NFL, has accuracy issues and is raw. We got him for basically free. We dropped 46 spots in the draft and are paying 1 million APY. I literally can not think of a better situation for a 3rd string developmental quarterback. So again, the fans that are unhappy about this, what exactly are you looking for. Realizing every team keeps a QB1, QB2 and QB3. So we need bodies in the QB2 and 3 spots. So someone has to be in the roster behind Dak. That’s just a fact. So if you’re not happy with Milton for 1 million APY and essentially a 6th round investment, then what would make you happy for the QB3 position? Not trying to argue but I’m genuinely confused and surprised anyone would be unhappy with this.

So Maye couldn't take the pressure of having Joe Milton III behind him.

Expect Prescott to similarly crack.

But, in fairness, a human being can only take so much.

Sounds like a bunch of fan/sportswriter spew to me. Starting NFL QBs don't give two bird turds about late drafted QBs. If Maye is that weak mentally, he needs to change careers.
True.

Romo wouldn’t even acknowledge the backup QBs in camp.

Milton can’t throw.

Pats didn’t want him.

He’s making league min, not guaranteed.

Aka scrub QB.
