Nothing wrong with signing low cost veterans

...IF you sign the correct ones.

The Eagles paid 4.66M total for 2024 to OLineman Mekhi Becton.

Becton was a bust for the Jets as the 11th overall pick in theh 2020 NFL draft.
- The Jets played him at OT and were dissappointed.

The Eagles sign him and put his 360+ pound body at OG.
- He was their starting RG including 4 playoff games.
- Result: The Eagles powered their way to a Super Bowl win with a mediocre QB...
I'll leave your dumb comment about Hurts alone.

But you do have a point -- someone your scouts evaluated favorably in the past who didn't really work out elsewhere .... particularly when they were on a crap team ... and way too fat to play outside.

Not even doing the counting but using someone elses facts that you run away as fast as you can insult.

By the way what was YOUR draft number...coward.
Answer any point in post #79, without mumblimg, insulting my intelligence...or without a Jerry insult lack of an honest 30 year calendar...coward.

Just when exactly did you volunteer and stand up...heroes!

Ever get a Congressional Appointment and earn the results of the Air Force Mafia that set standards for air defense? Again, teach me heroes! Hit them where they are, not negotiated hill tops!

What did Howard Baker do in our past, heroe?

If you ever earned my respect, you would get it. Keep your cry baby reference point instead of function of leadership and the current window of opportunity. You merely rewrite your own bias. Ever coached? here it comes, anther stereo type. Ever even played in a Bowl Game or with future All Pros?

Air Defense in Desert Storm, heroe.
This is a football forum and you have no idea what the people on this forum have done in their lives.
Just because they don't choose to brag about it here doesn't mean they didn't serve their country.

Why would anyone want your respect you follow a leader that has prostituted our team strictly for his own gain.

There is no window of opportunity with Jerry Jones he keeps us three players and a coach away from being able to compete for a Super bowl trophy.

He has struck upon the formula to build the most valuable team in sports and collect the most revenue without gaining its ultimate trophy and you follow along blindly.
Calling people cowards from behind a keyboard you didn't serve in the military who are you kidding.
2016 was 9 years ago you can stop posting everything that happened back then we all know and the end result was the same we didn't win a Super bowl then either.

black hole coward...respond on football facts presented. you have done none but lied on any fact used in place of achivements provided to you!
Black hole is a good way to describe what this franchise has become.
And yes it's most certainly a football fact you come here and waste your career.
Sure you might get paid a ton of money while you make Jerry his money but if a Super bowl is what you want as part of your life's work or is on your bucket list don't sign on here because it's not going to happen.

Aw heck enough preaching to Gomer the Homer.
Back to the point at hand of signing low-cost veterans we have even adapted a new strategy of signing low-cost veterans that were high draft picks.

There's always a chance that one of them could be coached up and actually make something of themselves possibly achieve some of their potential.

It's kind of like we decided to dumpster dive in a high class neighborhood just never know what pleasant surprise might turn up.

Hey, you still want to fight me with them internet muscles. Don't scratch your head. Question? Are you in Houston or DC? lmao.
oh, so cute you are following me....you must be butt hurt still.

you are laughing at what? drunk!? you look really stupid with that last comment. desparate to hang ont to something in your drunk state.

Your topic sounds like one of the best empty phrases from Mickey Spacknuglo.

.... And he has a lot of them.

Aikman played in the damn 90s not watered down salary cap 2024.

And for the record I don’t think Hurts is mediocre. I just don’t care to argue it. He’s an Eagle.

This place is so backwards. This place will tell you much we suck but will prop up the Eagles. It’s truly unbelievable. Everyone has a right to fan how they want. I’ll argue for Lamar, Burrows any day. It’s not a “other team” thing. It’s the hatred Eagles. Damn so you guys don’t hate Eagles anymore? Jerry has ran this thing to the ground….
I hate the Eagles nearly as much as I love the Cowboys (the organization, not Jerry and his act).

That’s based on real life encounters with their degenerate low life fans in Veterans Stadium. Only venue that ever needed a judge on premises on game day. Then when they got the new place they did away with that claiming “it’s a different fan base.”

How? And no it wasn’t. I live an hour away and dont bother going anymore because it’s people that want to get drunk and fight. No thanks.

Absolutely kills me that they win Super Bowls while Jerry and his ego are on a celebrity trip.

He is about to get his.

I hear you brother I live about 25 minutes from the stadium and to watch these dirt balls win championship after championship while Jerry makes us suffer is absolutely brutal.
I don't go to the stadium anymore either I served my apprenticeship at that and came away pretty much unscathed.
There is absolutely no way Jerry with all his money influence and power can be a true Cowboys fan and let the eagles continue to win championships while he can cuffs us with substandard coaches no participation in free agency and just a general attitude that he is not going to do what's necessary to win the big game.

lol Punks R Us. Get lost.
you are drunk. you tell me to get lost. I ignore you. then you chase me done and challenge me...now you tell me get lost again.

really, drunk? this early in the day. consider joining AA. not a good way to go through life son

Message for the Hurts haters: Many QB’s have had the team around them and failed. This basic fact seems to be a mystery to some posters here. You just look ignorant.

Becton went to a team that, in an interview, said that knew he had no chance to start at tackle. He has the benefit of Jeff Stoutland coaching him to be a guard. He also had the luxury of being put in between an AP tackle and PB center. Roseman consulted with Stoutland before making the deal. Just adding a bit more context. You think Becton would have done the same here?

Have you noticed this guy keeps replying to himself? Maybe a mental health professional is needed...

this thread really went sideways IMO.
Off the rails might be a better description.
I agree, but it's hard not to respond when certain keyboard warrior fans use works like coward, loser, etc. Yes, many of us are unhappy, and we voice that unhappiness frequently. But I don't think that disqualifies us from making comments about the signing of bottom of the barrel players or any other lack of effort or concern by Jerry Jones. As a GM, he's simply out of his league.

Nothing wrong with signing low cost veterans, no...

But you can't only sign low cost veterans
Yeah but the irony here, and maybe you don't see it it's not every team takes these risks, show me what Kansas City has done the last five years in free agency and how many of their own players have they signed or let go?

I mean aren't we using Super Bowl teams, I mean if you want to talk about the Eagles though back to the irony the players they signed to cheaper contracts were the better players, huff made $17 million last year and was a major disappointment...

So technically the Eagles lowered budget pickups were their best..huh?

So why don't we wait and see how they turn out but I can tell you this kendricks was every bit a great pickup last year regardless of how much he was paid since when does that matter you call him bargain bin basements shopping in the cheap section blue light special but when they actually come and play well then it actually was a steal and that's a genius GM for getting a guy that cheap that played that well..

I can see that happening with multiple players they signed we need to wait and see what they do before we poo poo the idea that we haven't got better I think our linebacker core did get better we're deeper and when we get over sewn back it might be the best core we've had in 10 years as a group.....

Correct, their $17 million FA player in Huff was a major disappointment.... And we didn't do enough last year that was apparent but this year..

so far, I'm content up to this point what we've done in the off-season was way more active than last year..

But last year let's not discount how good Kendricks really was go look at his numbers it stacks up like in a top 10 for linebackers if you look at his stat sheet it's pretty impressive. And they brought over six or seven other players after the draft that weren't great, but Lawson did a pretty good job...

And people complain about our pickups except for other teams do the same thing...

I mean where did Edoga go I thought he was a spare part jag that should never even be in the NFL and somehow, he and Trey Lance got picked up pretty quick by other teams, you know our trash we should have never signed that other people are signing...

And back to this last year they didn't do enough this year they brought over quite a bit of players so far and there's more to go in the offseason and the draft so at this point this is a far better offseason and that's without seeing proof on the field...
