Turpin as WR 2 or 3

Turpin should be used like Cole Beasley was used, in the short passing game. Turpin adds another element though he has elite speed after a few short routes ,have him do a double move and hit him deep. Speed kills use it.
Totally agree. Turpin can also be effective on quickly misdirection routes underneath. No LB or Safety can keep up with him. Turpin is too quick and too fast. These Dallas coaches simply need to get their heads out of their behinds and start designing some advantageous passing routes for Turpin. Shoot, I bet some of us could come up with better designed plays.

Turpin needs a QB who can throw with anticipation: Right now he'd get open but when the ball arrived, it'd be a ontested catch or he'd be unalived as a defenseless receiver.
Not true. Dak can throw with anticipation. I get tired of hearing people post such fallacies. It's all on tape...

Hear is an anticipation throw well explained by ex-NFL QB, JT O-Sullivan, on his YouTube QB School page. He breaks down a well anticipated throw made by Dak to Michael Gallup way back during the 2018 season (only Dak's 3rd season at the time), so clearly, Dak was already improving on his anticipation throws barely 3 years with the Cowboys at the time and has gotten better in recent years...

That's the "blind squirrel-broken clock mentality. I see too much thrown behind receivers and too many contested passes. That's why he needs a strong running game. He needs 8 man boxes. He had it with early Zeke and prime Pollard.
It's not hs fault, it's genetics. Dak tries to the best of his capabilities.

Desperate accusations. All QBs have off throws. Not a single one throws perfectly placed throws every time.

Turp doesn’t have the size to be a number 2. Need a bigger body that can go up after the ball and win battles. I would be fine with him as a number 3 because of his speed. He’s a big play waiting to happen.

Schoon already has.
LOL, based on what - his whole 27 catches last year and one TD? WOW, you are easy to win over, doesn't take much for you does it. I'd prefer a season like Ferguson had in 2023 for my top TE, not a whopping 27 catches thrown mostly by a backup QB who won't be throwing any passes to him next year at all.
Dak and Ferguson had a nice connection in 2023. Thats why I said Ferguson. Your buddy Schoon is another one of their terrible draft picks in recent years

Sad. He's good at wr 4 in certain packages if we run screens with him, gadgets, or have him at slot wr at times. We can't have him out there full time. He will get hurt.
I agree Turpin is an ideal #4 WR and elite ST player.
As a #4, you can use him as a playmaker with deep balls, screens, slot plays etc, but he
is just not the player to be a regular top 3 WR in todays game.
We lack a #2 right now. I think Tolbert could be a solid #3 and Turpin a great #4.
Really think Lockett would have been a good get. He cost the Titans just 1 year 4 mil plus some incentives if he hits them.
His speed and connection to Shotty would have been a nice, cost effective piece to get us through another year. Of course, we thought Cooks was the same thing and that didn't work out so well. I'm sure we were eyeing Tet in the draft so we didn't move on Lockett at the time. Again, that adversity to risk thing. Now we are down to Allen and Coop, both of whom likely cost a lot more than Lockett signed for.

They are begging Mingo to step and snatch the #2 spot........
It appears soneone thought he could be a legit 2. Hopefully they were right. Trading your only 4th for a guy isn’t a cheap price to pay. I don’t see it but I don’t watch tape on him like hopefully they did before making the deal

He did a lot with the reps he had last year. So give him more reps..... I feel like, right now, Jalen Tolbert might be better than the available options in FA. I also feel like Turpin can be a 2 or at least 3. He's really improved as a player. His next leap would have to be refining his route running. But I truly feel our starting lineup can be Lamb, Tolbert and Turpin. It has the potential to be a lethal combination if both Tolbert and Turpin can reach their highest potential. Like they may not be the tallest or biggest. But the potential for them to be one of the best trios in the league is there if the staff can maximize these players.
Neither.....he's an ALL-PRO special teamers who also get 5-10 snaps a game at WR.
His primary competition for snaps might be Jaydon Blue.

He’s more than that. He had 31 catches for over 400 yards and a couple of TDs last season. They’re getting him more involved in the passing game.
I say let Turp play slot, A LOT...as a #3 and #4. He could be a tough matchup in the slot. He's got breakaway speed, so one missed tackle or bad angle, and he could take a slant pass to the house. The Cowboys need that kind of explosiveness.

3 1/2

He was a 2nd round pick.

His draft Bio is excellent.

Big Mike basically ignored him.
