Joe Milton "Not a Good Dude" According to Patriots Insider?

A couple of things here IMO;
It's interesting how ONE person's comment can negatively impact some fans' view of a player. "Joe Milton is not a good dude".....what the hell does that mean w/o context? Noticed Drake comments........does that sound like "not a good dude" to you? The Pats even took less to accommodate him by trading him to the team he wanted. That doesn't sound like a team pi__ off at a player. But suddenly, coz one person says he has attitude/character issues, some fans are taking it and running with it.

NFL insider Greg Bedard said on his “Patriots Podcast” that the trade was made not because of a potential threat to Maye, but that Milton “and this is a direct quote from someone in the organization — ‘is not a good dude.’

“Knowing your role, playing your role, being part of a harmonious quarterback room — that was going to be an issue. It wasn’t about Drake Maye. It was just about the room

For what it’s worth, Maye — in his first public comments since the Milton trade — said this week that he had no issues with Milton.

“I texted Joe. Me and Joe came in together. We learned the offense together. We were competing every day to out-throw each other at practice. And obviously he’s got a big arm. So it was cool for him to get a chance to go and be be a backup,” Maye said.
“I think you saw in the Bills game his potential. And I think we kind of have a similar play style a little bit, and it was kind of related to our similar college offense to this offense. And it was cool to be in the room and have somebody to bounce ideas, or, ‘Hey, you remember doing this in college?’ and stuff like that.”

The fans who are taking apart his (Milton ) game ( not accurate, can read defenses, holds the ball too long, etc. ) check this review of the top 10 QBs for the 2026 draft. You will notice some of the SAME issues Milton have are not much different from most of these TOP prospects. My point is MOST, if not all rookie/young QBs have some holes in their game. Hell, Andy Reid didn't trust Mahomes to even start his rookie season.

2026 NFL Draft: Top QB Prospects Led by Garrett Nussmeier and Drew Allar

Arch Manning didn’t make our top-10 list, but several talented signal-callers did.

That's what happens when you're a 6th round pick competing against the 3rd overall pick in the draft. He'd have to show he's head and shoulders above the 3rd overall pick. How is he supposed to do that? He's in a no win situation as far as starting goes.

The Pats media guys loved him last camp apparently. They were saying things like, if you didn't know better you'd think he was the 3rd overall...

Just to clarify...

I'm not talking about the Dallas situation specifically...

My point is, I have now heard this stuff about teams maybe not wanting a QB competition for psychology reasons 3 different times in the past 6 months or so. Maybe it's more about qb controversy drama distracting the locker room.

I don't think any guy is pushing Dak.

I can see how a rookie could get his confidence ruined if he was supposed to be the starter and then the team acquired a seasoned vet for backup(think Joe flacco) and the rook was constantly worried about his mistakes to the point he gets the yips.

I get that competition produces results, but I don't know if Dallas is the place you want a QB controversy. The media will have a field day....it will get to the locker room...just a big distraction.

Milton was not going to sit behind another rookie, for five seasons. And sit there and be happy about it. I wouldn’t be in neither. Would anybody else with their right mind. I actually think he’s better than Drake. New England was second-guessing, even drafting Drake.
Better than Maye? bahahahahah. Next
