Look I have no expectations, but I can tell you this all this talk that we didn't get an RB 1 as if we don't have players here that that's making our run game better than last year is off base in my opinion, I think we are better...

Take the offensive line philosophy right now it seems like they want to make that the best it's been in a while they're focusing on scheme and don't tell me that Jayden Blue is not going to do Tony Pollard type things that is an improvement already having another guy like Pollard that could do the things Pollard did before his injury and maybe do it better he's got Jamir Gibbs tight upside, not saying that's who he's going to be ,

but I'm running back room is improved because we don't have Zeke here and you got Williams and Sanders can battle out for one spot but mafah has a shot here because he could be your dirty yard short yardage guy you know your blue collar lunch pail type and then you bring in blue... so I in my opinion how can you not think at least on paper we look better than last year in the run game...

I don't care who makes it the best ones need to be kept, and they need to part ways with the rest of them... I know we had our eyes set on RB1 has to be a guy like Henry or Saquan Barkley and that's just not true not every teams getting one of those and I know running back by committee seems like a bad word around here but it isn't if you have the right mix of players the San Francisco 49ers did it three or four years ago where they had about three running backs that had over 500 yards each and they were all weapons and they went to the Super Bowl playing with Garoppolo and a running back by committee...

It can be done and I believe they will get it done I think we have enough guys that can pick through and pick the best of them.. But I remember a name being thrown around here you know the ex-Pittsburgh Steeler Najee Harris who I believe looked a whole lot like a 3 yard and cloud of dust guy, he was a dirty yards guy he wasn't special and yet he got paid to go elsewhere our own fan base wants that and that is the exact type of guy mafah is...

I mean somebody here said he reminds him of Eddie George, well Eddie George was like that too he has a career average under four yards per carry, he wasn't special as far as breaking big runs, but I like to keep it at why don't we just say we have another Rico here that is who mafah, probably is going to be most like, meaning he does nothing special, he doesn't break long runs, but he can get the job done,

as long as you have they change a pace guy like blue to come in and get that juice that you need along with a guy like Turpin he's not a running back but they use turpin and lamb as part of the run game and I think we're better in my opinion, I think this coaching staff will utilize these players better...

I disagree he finally had one good year and now everybody's overrating him he did nothing special he had two touchdowns 1 he bobble for 30 seconds that was a pass thank God he caught it it was an easy pass to catch and he made it look tough he had one other running touchdown you have 1000 yards that in those 1000 yards nothing looked special he didn't make a lot of cuts he didn't break a lot of long runs and he definitely didn't score a lot of touchdowns you are overrating the man.. It took him three or four years of practice squads and being moved up to finally have a solid year and you think he's better than anything we have on this team you're delusional..

Don't get me wrong I like the guy but I guarantee you even this rookie mafa can be Rico easily if he's given the ball in front of a solid offensive line and just used for The Dirty yards and then you cannot sit here and try to tell me that Rico is better than Jayden Blue you apparently didn't watch a lot of Texas games and look at the videos this guy's not a gadget guy he's Tony Pollard with Jamir Gibbs upside you're trying to tell me that Rico is better than Tony Pollard are you serious no the the running back by committee from this stable whichever ones they pick can be much better than we had last year..

I’m thinking like a Jim Brown/Barry Sanders type of combo. The sky is the limit.

Unless the two rooks are complete disasters, just roll with them. They seem to complement each other perfectly actually. See what you have at the least.

Sanders won’t make the team, and Williams will start until around week five, about 2-3 games after average fans realize he isn’t the answer.

It’s nice that they added some lower end vet RB before the draft in case it didn’t go their way yet again, but it seems to have….and the same thing should have been done at DT/LB but oh well. Stopping the run isn’t a big deal.

Ya know you’d think a team that suddenly realizes that running the ball is important would also understand that the opponent wants to do the same, and easily can.

Javonte and Miles washed. Blue a 3rd down RB, and let's be real Wisner took over as the lead RB for Texas. Mafah hasn't even took a snap in the league, and is a 7th round pick. Like I said, Rico at this moment is better as an overall RB than the whole lot.

Say what you want, but Rico rushed for 1,000 yards behind a trash OL in the NFL. Let's see who runs for 1,000 behind a better OL and possibly a healthy QB1.

Williams already has shown he's recovered from the knee. He was never an elite back but he's a very good RB that is difficult to get down. He's basically a better version of Dowdle.

I'd certainly be happy with that. Here's hoping.

Yeah people are too quick to dismiss Dowdle. I get its not like he was a top 10 back or anything, but we do need to replace 235 carries at 4.6YPA. Even at his best Williams was a 4.4ypc guy his rookie year so him getting back to form best case scenario probably means is probably about the same level of production that Rico was.

I believe the Cowboys did raise the floor of the room with Blue n Mafah vs Zeke n Cook, so the upside there is encouraging.

I tend to stick with the "you are what you are" philosophy until proven otherwise. Javonte Williams has been a 3.7 YPC back the last two seasons.

He was signed by a front office that believed last year that Ezekiel Elliott could still be a lead back and the last couple of years that Royce Freeman and Ronald Jones could be cheap contributors.

We could easily end up with a running back room where none of our backs are even as good as Dowdle was last year.

was Tony Pollard just a third down running back ??because that's odd they literally on his franchise tag he played for us for $11 million he was our lead back, and then the Titans have him as his lead back, that is who Blue is or better, he has potential he has the same size weight and speed is Jamir Gibbs. Somehow you think Tony was 3rd down back, no and Blue is TP before he got his injury.
