Personally, I don't see how you could think the team didn't at least put in a solid effort at improving.

I won't list all the players, but I think the ones we've added via draft or FA or UDFA or trades, probably move the needle at least a little bit.

I just hope they aren't done yet. I don't know what we're getting done. But get 'er done, Jerry!

On paper, they look better than this time last year. Questions still remain such as run defense/offense and stable QB play. Injuries and coaching will dictate everything per usual. The division is getting tougher but this group seems poised enough to compete until the end.

Division is tougher. But we improved this year. If we can stay healthy, I think we can compete with any team, including Philthy. We need a few things to go our way, but our luck should probably get better as far as injuries.

Pickens is like having 2 number 1 receivers. Almost not fair to get him yet we got him, plus the draft.

Now we just need to sign one more splash player and it'll be the best off-season in a decade.

Yes .........regardless of what you hear from some fans, defensive coordinator will respect Pickens as #1 WR talent. Forget all the hot head issues you are hearing coz all that matters on Sunday is that he shows up. Frankly, he has done that.....

In other words, Pickens will change the way defensive coor game plan for this offense.....

These are the kind of comments we are not seeing enough of...........sometimes there a can be a BAD fit between player and coach/team. I truly think that may have been the case with Pickens and Steeler/Tomlin.
BTW.....those fans calling the Steelers a great franchise, which is true but for some reason they have had issues keeping high-level/elite WRs. Keep in mind ALL WRs have some diva in their DNA. It's just the way they are........maybe, just maybe the Steelers have troubles adjusting.

So Jane is saying both sides would like to see a long-term deal .....but there is a process.

Yeah, just reading her Tweet. Gilmore is coming -- just at a later date. He's solid insurance down the stretch and likely has one more year left in him. I would actually love that move. But it will surely be towards at least camp or after. They need a vet DT run stopper, Gilmore and they're done.

I'm surprised they have not added more elite talent to the LBer room.

IMO… they have overall improved the roster from where it was at the end of last season.

There have been some losses and departures, but they have at least marginally improved those areas or at least are treading water and breaking even.

The biggest issue this franchise is facing right now is failure fatigue. Hope is at an all time low, and cynicism is at an all time high. We have seen this team talk themselves up and choke at the worst moments. Until they prove it on the field, they will be dogged by doubt and skepticism

I think so.

We had an excellent draft.

It still comes back to Dak and his health. If he’s healthy all season we should be able to compete. I really like the get of Milton though. He’s going to get all the reps in PS so we will see what he has.

Yes! Definitely!
Will the new running game scheme on offense and run defense acquisitions with Murray and DT support be an improvement on defense?

These will determine if they contenders for NFC Conference Title or wild card hopeful but it is a conversation unlike last year.

I just said this to a friend yesterday. IF (Big if) Dak is healthy this team has everything it needs to compete for a championship. I’m really high on this coaching staff. Give them the talent they need to compete and they can. McCarthy was never afforded that after Amari was traded, even though from some accounts it was his idea.
