Did We Move the Proverbial Needle this Off-season?

Pickens helps the offense....the defense has huge questions up front
I don’t think the D is worse than last year. Inside not much better, but on the edge we could be a bit better. But if the offense can run the ball well, create TD’s in the redzone then the D might be just fine. The offense could hide the run defenses weakness if they can control the game and get better in redzone

On paper, they look better than this time last year. Questions still remain such as run defense/offense and stable QB play. Injuries and coaching will dictate everything per usual. The division is getting tougher but this group seems poised enough to compete until the end.
Or how this group of Dallas Cowboys handle game changers and work them to their advantages.

Yeah, just reading her Tweet. Gilmore is coming -- just at a later date. He's solid insurance down the stretch and likely has one more year left in him. I would actually love that move. But it will surely be towards at least camp or after. They need a vet DT run stopper, Gilmore and they're done.
Gillmore is done. He was liability his last year with us. Hes no insurance plan.

To me it depends on what you consider moving the needle. If moving the needle means they will be better and complete (and I think win) the division and get to the playoffs, yes the needle has been moved. If moving the needle means we are legit contenders for a NFC championship game or SB, then no.. we haven't moved the needle at all. And it will be at least another 2 years before we can move the needle in that direction.

Personally, I don't see how you could think the team didn't at least put in a solid effort at improving.

I won't list all the players, but I think the ones we've added via draft or FA or UDFA or trades, probably move the needle at least a little bit.

I just hope they aren't done yet. I don't know what we're getting done. But get 'er done, Jerry!
Pre draft Id say the roster got worse from last year. I thought Booker was a reach at a low value position but overall value for the top 3 positions was solid.

Trading for Pickens is high risk high reward.

After the dust has settled I think we’ll be competitive and will sneak into the playoffs as long as Dak plays like superman but the roster just isn’t at the same level as top contenders.

Yes, and I definitely didn’t think I would be saying that three months ago. But you gotta give the Cowboys some credit where credit is due. We have acquired some outstanding upgrades when I didn’t think it was still possible. I can now definitely say the Cowboys will be in improved Team over last year’s team. Probably not quite as good as we were the year before though. We’ve just lost too many players.

Division is tougher. But we improved this year. If we can stay healthy, I think we can compete with any team, including Philthy. We need a few things to go our way, but our luck should probably get better as far as injuries.

Pickens is like having 2 number 1 receivers. Almost not fair to get him yet we got him, plus the draft.

Now we just need to sign one more splash player and it'll be the best off-season in a decade.
I feel like Pickins is the perfect kind of player to go up against Philly.

We shuffled the chairs on the Titanic but didn't change the captain of the ship who is steering us toward the iceberg again.
