Would you rather have had DK?

Would have rather had Metcalf but Pickens is younger and can still get better.

At this point, in this situation, no.

Give me Pickens. I like his trajectory. He'll get some marketing love here that could pay off for him especially if he stays for a decent contract.

Dallas has the largest fan base, and advertisers know that and won't mind paying a receiver for the Cowboys like Pickens for the right jobs.

Not saying DK wouldn't. I would just like to see Pickens dispell the myths about him. Seems like a lot going on in Pittsburgh with this kinda thing. Maybe it isn't all him.

Don't forget, Pickens is one of the better players at his position....this could end up being a great deal.

Disregarding cost, absolutely.

Pickens has been a head case diva and DK has not.
DK Metcalf is notorious for doing all the same stuff as Pickens.

I honestly can’t believe what I’m reading, lol.

He’s a great player, but he’s ever bit the problem as Pickens.

Not an apples to apples comparison as the price was higher to acquire him and doubt Pickens receives that type of extension. Based just on the players, Metcalf is better, but not by a wide margin.
I see it a bit differently.........I don't sense the same dawg in DK as Pickens, Lamb, AJ, Chase. I don't sense DK is a I'm that guy type of player. Kinda similar to Roy Williams we traded for.......wasn't hungry enough.

Exactly why we should be careful laying too blame on Pickens..........The Steelers have a history of not keeping elite WRs.

That was the Steelers' biggest knock on Pickens though. He's too much of a diva; too competitive; wants to win a lot.

Pickens… for a few reasons,
1, he’s younger and hopefully hungry to prove the Steelers wrong.
2, the contract for DK would have been way too much to pay.
3, and finally, if Pickens wants a ridiculous amount before signing a contract extension, we can let him hit free agency and probably have our 3rd rounder back, albeit a year later.

Knowing our FO's penchant for getting the most bang for the buck, we'd best be prepared for having Pickens for 1 year, before saying goodbye. The cost of re-signing him won't please this FO, at all. I'm certain that Jerry & Son will look to the NFL draft to replace Pickens in 2026. That's just how they roll. The chances of Pickens giving the Cowboys an affordable deal next year is likely to be minimal, at best.
