on Fox and Espn this morning all I heard, from a bunch of people was that this is a very good trade. Where are you hearing its terrible?

Pickens is a one year rental and he’s more likely to create strife inside the locker room than make a difference on offense. Risky trade for not much reward. No one thought we were a WR away from a championship.

Pickens was popular in the locker room. His teammates liked him.

It’s pretty well documented and referenced even by Steelers fans who didn’t like some of his on field stuff like penalties and talking crap

I think for Washington or Philly, this would be a good trade because those teams are contenders and 1 player makes a difference. Those teams can afford a 1 year rental. The Cowboys are not 1 player away from being a contender so the trade means the Cowboys will be better but to what end? If they finish the season 9-8 and out of the playoffs, what good does having Pickens around for 1 year do for them?

Washington is a contender and we are not after our draft, free agency, and trading for Pickens? Washington barely beat us in a game they really needed for playoff position and we were starting a 3rd string QB.
We are every bit the contender Washington is!

OP is correct.
Any other team, Some would have the opposite reactions.

The issue is our GM has used up any goodwill and benefit of the doubt with his terrible mismanagement of this team for the past 29 years.

To be fair, those teams have had some success so people would view them as going from really good to great.

The Cowboys have not had any post-season success so many Cowboys fans feel like adding a potentially great player that also comes with some personal on-field issues is more like "Lucy holding the ball for Charlie Brown to kick".

I am a firm believer in trying to upgrade your team so I am happy with bringing in talent as long as it doesn't require mortgaging the future of the Cowboys draft.

That said, the Cowboys have a history of drafting injured-would-have-been-day-1-pick-if players and trading for other team's good-but-has-issues players and none of those things has yielded post-season success.

For Cowboys fans who have been through the 30 years of failed season after failed season, it's understandable they would not be overly excited about any free agent signing or draft pick regardless of who it was.

In the end, it's still Lucy holding the ball for the 30th time and the fans deciding if this time, she's going to actually let them kick it.

Pickens wants to be No1 receiver and be paid like one. My Steelers friends say he ruined the locker room with his constant complaints. He is gone end of season because we can’t afford him and he wants no 1 receiver touches. If we were a contender need a receiver to help get us over the top id be happy with this trade.

Based on what you're saying, that means Trent Dilfer and Nick Foles were much better quarterbacks than Dan Marino and Jim Kelly because Dilfer and Foles proved they could win a Superbowl and Marino and Kelly couldn't, correct?

As a matter of fact, according to what you're saying.... Colin Kaepernick was a better quarterback than Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson because Kaepernick proved he could get to a Superbowl and Allen and Jackson hasn't, am I right?

That's a lame argument. You want to ride the dak train, by all means have at it. But Dak folds like a cheap lawn chair when the pressure gets to be to much. He did it in college and he has done every year as a Pro. Dak has been on good teams. Dak, while not the only reason, he is the main reason these teams fail in the playoffs. He is a well paid loser as a QB. He seems to be a good dude, so there is that but give me any of the QBs you mentioned over Dak in the playoffs, every singe time.

I was not. I wanted them to use every single draft pick for the Defense, except for a RB. The only way we win anything is to make the QB irrelevent. Dominate run game and Dominate D. Last thing we needed was a WR.

I want everyone to take a picture of this Washington will not make the playoffs next year ! Everyone is going off 1 game against Detroit making them Super Bowl contenders! Hell they won at least 5 games they should had lost ! Plus Dallas beat them with a backup Qb and had them beat with a 3rd stringers they could had been 9-8 easy !

First of all, I'm on the Dallas Cowboys train. I cheer for every player that wear the Dallas Cowboys uniform.

Then you said that's a lame argument. You just contradicted yourself. You made a statement saying Dak folds in the playoffs. Ok cool.

I then stated how Foles and Dilfer WON a Superbowl and Marino and Kelly didn't. Kelly had four tries to do what Foles and Dilfer did in their first try.... they won a Superbowl.

Kaepernick made it to a Superbowl, something Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen hasn't done. Now in your original argument, YOU stated how "the other 3 NFCE quarterbacks proved they could reach a Championship game and Dak obviously didn't.

You were trying to say those other three quarterbacks must be better than Dak because of the fact that Dak hasn't made it to a championship game, and that's fair..... but again....

According to your logic of measuring what game "a quarterback makes it to", that means Kaepernick was better than Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson because Kaepernick made it to a Superbowl and Jackson and Allen didn't.

So my argument was VERY valid according to the standards YOU placed on the quarterbacks. You can't make a set of standards for one quarterback then make up excuses and a different set of rules for other quarterbacks when measuring how far a quarterback made it.

That's called being a hypocrite. I'm not saying you're a hypocrite but your double sided argument is very hypocritical.
