What I am hearing Pickens, might be our best deep threat in years!

Broaddus and Voch said the Cowboys think they are fine at running back. I am with you about not being sure about Williams and I have questions about Blue too. Like you I wasn’t a big Dowdle fan either so I just would have liked them to bring in a more reliable runner. Maybe Miles will surprise. I thought he was good with Philly a few years ago.
I wouldn't rule out the Clemson back becoming that primary inside the tackles runner. Think he and Williams will compete to become that starter. Blue is going to be used more like Pollard, get him so many touches a game but won't be the lead back. I liked Sanders too, but he was like Mingo in Carolina, so far down the depth chart.

I just need to see the offense we will run. I expect it to benefit Dak so I can imagine lots of 12 and 11 personnel. We need big years from four guys in my opinion to have a top flight offense. I am talking about blocking, pass catching, and limit busted assignments. I have my eye on.Ferguson, Schoonmaker, Tolbert, and Mingo. They should be in positions to make big plays.

I think if he plays like he's worth it and doesn't cause problems, then you find a way to do it. The NFL is set up to allow teams to move money around to keep their players. (Dak's contract, for instance, has another large base salary number next year at $40 million that can be restructured. It wouldn't even prevent Dallas from cutting him in 2028, the first year it's realistic, at a cap savings.) The Joneses only complain about not being able to pay everyone when they don't want to pay someone.

We could also tag Pickens next year for, I believe, less than $30 million.
Yeah I mentioned tagging him elsewhere, probably in this thread….can’t even keep track anymore lol.

If he had two years left on his deal, I’d be much more in favor of it. Tagging him essentially does that.

They can absolutely do it cap wise with a Dak restructure as you mention, but Parsons first year hit will be low as well. Im sure Lambs is set up to create space…..it’s just a matter of how much they want to push into the future to sign a second top WR.

Not so sure how Georgie would take to the tag, but the earth has a lot of spinning to do between now and then.

I don’t see a middle here other than the tag. Either he behaves and balls out…in which case he gets #1 money elsewhere and Dallas gets their third back, or something goes wrong and teams aren’t up for giving him the bag, in which case…does Dallas even want him back?

Point being….the most unlikely scenario is him here long term on #2 money.

It’s either tag, gone for #1 money, or something went wrong.

Pickens turns 50/50 balls into 70/30 balls

I want Dak to chuck it up to Pickens atleast 4-5 times a game…he should come down with 2 or 3

Idc if it’s an interception…..oh well who cares some interceptions are just punts

I often told my Steelers fan friend. Pickens reminds me of Michael Irvin in certain ways.
No, I am not saying he will be. But he has that potential.
Actually, if you look at his height and weight and watch him play, he's a less polished version of CD Lamb the guy is right on the team already, ask CD Lamb what he thinks. I mean look at the how they're built watch some of the highlights...

The issue with George Pickens is he's not a good route runner he's not he's not a polished route runner he doesn't have a lot of moves to get open so he ends up catching a lot of contested balls which is good at but that's why lamb is better that's why lambs elite he's a true number one and George Pickens is struggling to be a 1B or a number two would be a better fit for him..

What I want to see more from him though is touchdowns this is something that not a lot of our receivers are as good as Dez Bryant was dez Bryant literally was a touchdown machine just like Terrell Owens I mean they found the end zone and they found it early and often it wasn't just about yards yards per catch or first down they scored george Pickens only has 13 touchdowns in three years..

So he needs to work on his game and he's not going to be over here I don't have care how good a year he has he's not getting elite money like top 5 money this guy is more in the DJ Moore Devante Smith and Brandon and AIuk those those contracts that that's what he's should be looking at as a goal because he's not getting more than that..

Yup, the combination of the cannon arm of Milton and the deep threat of Pickens will be awesome to see.
Yeah that's hilarious but you can keep thinking that look Milton's raw he's green and he needs a lot of work what you might be seeing is Milton overthrowing Pickens a lot throwing left of him throwing right of him guys are going to have to look like contortionists to catch the ball the dude is so inaccurate he has a lot of work to do before you believe somehow in a few years there somehow going to be matched up here are we talking about preseason? I mean are we talking about practice because you're delusional if somehow you think millions anywhere near ready to take a starting role on any NFL team...

This accuracy under pressure is not good at all and in some ways he's probably worse than Trey Lance when it comes to that they're very similar players except for Milton's bigger and more athletic but the man has massive erratic accuracy issues that's what he has to work on...

They all just receive a ton of single man coverage. Running the football and protecting the QB will be the key.

Next few years of this combo will be record breaking
Unless they extend Pickens immediately, he may be just a one-year deal. He will earn being awarded a $30M per year contract in 2026. Jerry wouldn't give that contract to CeeDee so why would he give it to Pickens? I expect Milton to perform far better than what most people seem to think he is capable of. Better than Dak.

yeah I was just being sarcastic, we'll see what happens, I don't see him staying after this season

Their blocking is essential to the running game and they better make teams pay with the coverage they will be getting.
