Interesting video about Scott Laidlaw

Seems to me this was all Laidlaw”s fault
He should have given his new phone number. He withheld it from the team.

It was not the Cowboys fault.
This video is worthless,. Sounds like current fans wanting to blame the team.

Someone just wanting to hate on the team.

I remember him breaking Jack Lambert's ribs on the same play that Jackie Smith dropped the pass in the end zone from Roger Staubach in the Super Bowl vs the Steelers.
Lambert went to the Steelers sidelines gasping for breath. It was a clinic on blocking by a running back that Laidlaw put on. Lambert was blitzing, and Staubach wouldn't have even got the pass off had Laidlaw not picked him up. He planted his head and shoulders in Lambert's torso and stopped him in his tracks.
I sent the video to Tashard Choice so he could use it to teach running backs how real blocking looked. I don't know if he used it or not. We used to tweet but I left that platform when they started censoring everyone, and lost contact with Tashard.

Is this video by a wannabe sports journalist? He doesn't have the voice for it for one thing. Also, this story is 40 years old and I don't ever recall Laidlaw complaining about anything. I mean, the Cowboys took a chance on him drafting him in the 14th round then gave him a role on a good team.

Laidlaw was cut by the Cowboys on August 6th, 1980 and sign by the Giants less than two weeks later. I don't see the controversy.

Scott Laidlaw became disillusioned with the Cowboys heading into Super Bowl 13 when they decided to put Robert Newhouse back in as the Starting FB returning from his broken leg.He either skipped or threatened to skip a team practice and voiced his displeasure. All of the coverage from Thomas Henderson regarding Terry Bradshaw and the Steelers obscured that.
Laidlaw was a decent role player/rotation guy.Solid Receiver out of the Backfield and decent runner.
He definitely played his best football in 1978 after Newhouse the leg in week 12.Played terrific in the 1978 Playoff Win over Atlanta. He had a history of nagging injuries 1975-1977 and that continued into the 1979 Season when they gave him a chance to be the starter at FB.Newhouse just a better player and a Character Guy that meant more to the Team.
Blaming the Cowboys for how his Career went isn't true. The Team drafted Ron Springs in 1979 and Timmy Newsome in 1980.Both of those guys were versatile players who proved the decision to cut Laidlaw the right move IMHO.

im gonna take A guess here, based on your screen name. Were you a Spurs fan back in the day?

So I guess they didn't have agents back then?

Was it the Cowboys fault that he carried the ball 5 times for 10 yards that season with the Giants?

Seems like they were trying to do the Giants a favor.

His story seems fishy. The Cowboys were terrified that Laidlaw might be a Giant?

With Robert Newhouse,Ron Springs and Timmy Newsome ahead of him on the depth chart at FB it proves Your Point.

He was a RB way back in the Landry days, who wasn't anything extra special, just an ok dude. I had to strain myself to get a clear picture of exactly what he was. Landry's guys were oftentimes jags who, if they followed his well-defined ways, did just fine. I seem to recall that's pretty much what he was.

He seemed to have a knack of doing everything well but not great at any one thing. Landry was all about "the system." If you followed the system, you stuck around, if not, so long! He was a high-character guy who managed to last for several years as a jag, got cut and went to the Giants.
