WR2 rankings

Pickens has more talent than any of the players rated over him. I don’t think the media wants to admit how bad the Steelers offensive scheme has been since the days of Big Ben and AB.
he does? I guess he drank from the koolaid Jar at the cowboys facility front door and now he is the best!

It’s weird how some players are viewed by the general public. I would rather have Jaylen Waddle than pretty much anybody outside the top 3 there

Some of these guys on this list have great reputations but if you look at their last few seasons you’ll see they fell off. Kupp is one guy I thought had much more success then he actually had.

I don't understand people being so down on Kupp. Yes there is a legitimate injury risk and you almost have to accept hes probably going to miss a few games, but when hes on the field the guy sitll produces like a lower end WR1.
probably because outside of his triple crown year he’s only cracked 1k once playing for the best offensive mind in the league who didn’t skip a beat with his replacement

He played for Jason Garrett? ;)

You're spot on, however he didnt hit 1000 yards more often due to his ability to stay on the field than anything else. If thats why we want to ding him on the rankings its a valid argument, but moving away from his counting stats and more into his efficiency numbers suggest that hes still an excellent receiver. He put up 710 yards on 357 routes last year. Thats a 2.0 yards per route last year which was good enough for 21st in the league. Not too bad for a guy in decline.

I wish more people would look at his actual numbers. He’s living off past reputation and accomplishments.
Thats the thing though...his numbers really arent bad at all. His counting stats are down because of missed time, but when he has been on the field he still contributes at a similar clip to what he has done in the past. Yes the injury risk is very real and maybe he only plays in 12 games again this year, but if he can stay healthier the numbers suggest he will be a top receiver again. I havent watched a ton of Rams film so maybe he looked worst on tape than his numbers show?

Here are his game logs from last year:

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/K/KuppCo00.htm

3 catches for 17 yards?
0 catches vs San Francisco?
3 for 24 yards?
1 for 29?
1 for 29?

Not good.

He also does everything well (blocking especially), is tough as balls, and is a proven winner.

yeah he’s still very talented obviously, but can we really bank on it? think that’s what it boils down to.
