The final missing piece on Defense for 2025+

This is absolutely the type of move the Cowboys should make to finish off this offseason if Reader is actually available. Bringing in a legitimate interior player on the DL is going to create all kinds of possibilities for this defense, and give the LBs a fighting chance in the run game. Bringing in a LB like Murray only makes sense to me if you are going to package it with a plus run stuffer up front.

The defense appears to have a number of missing pieces unless we hit big on this draft class. Our DL continues to be a big concern until proven otherwise. We’re not going to get far getting manhandled upfront.

You get off on pointing out the negatives don’t you.
no, actually I am one of the most positive people you want to ever be around. but I don't pump sunshine up anybody's arse. why? because then you don't go about solving the problems and finding the solutions. you keep fooling yourself thinking its all fine. that would be stupidity. I don't like stupid people.

DeMarvion Overshown played a little bit of Safety in college before moving to LB. Do you think Eberflus should try him at Safety, or is that too much strain on his knees? I would think it would be less than playing LB. He has the speed. It's his knees that worry me.
...man, that's hard to say. Im just hoping he comes back 90%.

Though, playing safety might be good idea, on just the premise to avoiding heavy contact in the trenches.

It was gruesome injury similar to Jaylon's. You know how Jaylon turned out. I know he got signed by Raiders, but the guy is half shell of once was.

What do you think this front office has been doing since the beginning of this year? Do you think they have just been sitting on their butts??? Have you not paid attention to all the months of studying and well thought out schemes of what to do via free agency, the draft, UDFAs and trades they have done to drastically help improve this team on offense, defense and special teams? What have you been watching brother? Or are you simply acting out just be be a pain in the butt?

That’s why focusing on the run and controlling the clock is gonna be the key. Otherwise we’re gonna get run on and to quote you “ manhandled “

Not here you aren’t.

He's 31 and in the final year of his contract. His cap hit in a trade would be around 6.6M for the year.

If I'm the Lions, I don't trade him. He far more valuable to a team that is currently in contention than any day 3 pick. I don't think they cut him either. They have over 40 million in cap space.
If he’s on the final year of his contract then definitely don’t do it. We don’t need to give up more draft capital for 1 year rentals. Thanks for the info, I didn’t know his situation.

You don’t owe him any explanation. He’s the guy who fled the message board when the cowboys were getting their **** pushed in all last season.

I know. he is "everything is awsome" type of personality. deep deep cowboys fan and doesn't want to believe that cowboys just aren't good in certain ways.
perhaps he works for Jerry Marketing department. who knows.

Jerry Jones said he had 2 big trade moves to make this offseason before the 2025 season starts. 2 big bold trade moves that would make or break this season going forward.

Well, Jerry definitely made a big bold move trading for WR 1b George Pickens who is only 24 years old, is a legit WR1 receiver and automatically makes he and CeeDee one of the best duo WR threats in the NFL.

But that is help for offense.

How about defense?

Isn't there 1 more big trade left for Jerry Jones to make? This defense has been retooled drastically via free agency and the draft. Plus, several veteran players are coming back from serious injuries. Add in a new O-Coordinator and new D assistant coaches, this defense definitely is expected to be much better. But it is still missing 1 big piece to help take it over the top the way WR George Pickens takes the offense over the top.

How about if Jerry makes this veteran player his 2nd big bold trade move who would take this defense over the top?

Such a big ol' nasty and proven 1-tech Nose Tackle in DJ Reader could definitely be the missing link!

What say you?

I say hello likely get cut wait til then.
