Dak Prescott is the 4th highest paid athlete in the world

.....pocket watching at it's finest
Nobody personally cares what somebody makes ( unless they're that type). The overwhelming majority only cares because of the pesky thing called the SALARY CAP and how each players cost effectiveness has an effect on the ability to build a Championship roster.

For example does anybody give a flip what Mahomed makes per month?.....no because he performs OVER his salary cap BURDEN.

Adults who work and balance a budget or run a business understand this very basic concept

The problem is that the offense goes as Dak does. In the niners playoff game before Pollard got injured the offense was largely keyed off him and the moment he went down you saw the drastic change because then it required that Dak shoulder more of the responsibility of operating the offense. Saw the same thing in that GB trashing.
You are absolutely right. And what have all see throughout his career, Dak caves in situations like this. He can't handle the pressure of the moment. He can't rise to the occasion. But neither could Romo, hence the reason many people refer to Dak as nothing more than 'Romo 2.0'

This is a new perspective for me. I thought it was ridiculous that he is the highest paid NFL player, but 4th highest paid in any sports? Wow. He is not even the 4th best QB in his own sport.

I like Dak. I have nothing against him personally. But his greedy deal, and I sincerely believe it is greedy to accept that kind of money for his performance, makes him less likeable to me.

The problem is, Dak can never play well enough to earn $60 million. He is just not that good.

As much as it makes me angry with Dak, I also know the real culprit is Jerry Jones. After all, if my employer offered me a new salary twice what I was worth or 30% more than I was worth, I would take it too. Not one person among us would turn it down. I don't blame Dak for accepting Jerry's offer. Jerry could have said no. He could have done nothing and let Dak play under his old contract for 1 more year.

But Jerry agreed to $60 million. He agreed to a no trade clause. He agreed to only 4 years. Heck, he agreed to all that and the no franchise tag on Dak's previous contract which was also a big mistake.

Yet, Jerry strolls around with his chest puffed out like he did something good for the Cowboys. Go figure.

But yet some of those same adults will die on some illogical blind loyalty vow in support of paying off a contract whose return on investment is choking the lifeblood out of them.

And then to make matters more confusing is those same few extreme loyalists are actually excellent Zone posters with all other aspects of the team.
How their QB evaluation meters got so tainted still confuses me when I find myself agreeing with them on anything/everything else BUT Dak.

Oh well.
Opinions are like you know what.
Everybody's got one, lol.

Cowboys!

Just lends weight to the old adage: Better to be lucky than good.
The Dak story is fascinating. The terrible luck of losing his mom then his brother balanced against the incredible luck of getting pulled in to orbit around Jerry's world and landing on this list.

William Munny said it right. Deserves got nothing to do with it.

It's this FO continued mistakes.
It's Dak now.
It was Romo before that.

And cast of other players and coaches who have come and gone.

After Dak there will be a John Doe and he will fail as well as long as Jonses own this team.
Bro,
You are still one of my fave posters regardless. I pretty much share in all your other opinions on how this team needs to be built.
We just share different opinions on this QB.
Don't ya think Dak could have "maybe" asked for less in the interest of team building kinda like what Purdy just did whose playoff record is slightly better than Dak's?

He kept it below a 60 mil per year avg. and now It's having this trickle down effect of all the other GMs targeting Dak's overpaid 60 mil per year avg. as the The Dak overpayment Standard to avoid at all costs.

I just know the end result already with this guy.
Regardless of personnel support.
Regardless of different coaching.
His ceiling has already been reached.
Well past time to move on imo.

Is the endorsements amount correct? Unlike the others on the list, Dak is not a global superstar. He has no profile outside the US, unlike the other NFL players on the list and many NFL players not on the list. I've never seen any advert with Dak (live in Europe). Frequently see Mahomes, Allen etc.

Lol funny how Allen, Love, and now Purdy all signed after Dak, and they didn't use the excuse of the NFL brotherhood to sign a record deal
Love, Tua and Lawrence signed before Dak. Allen left money on the table like an idiot and his team did nothing with it. Purdy was *** last year.

Imagine paying an old, inaccurate, slow and bad decision making player more than a World Cup MVP, 2x Copa America Winner, multiple local league winner and 3 times Champions League winner.

Lol… Most NFL quaterbacks are overrated and overpaid.

I’ve seen people say he makes 5-10 million a year off endorsements I don’t know how they calculated this.
