His injuries: the thumb, the ankle and the hammie are freak occurrence injuries not breaking down injuries. Dak has an excellent chance of playing till he's 40. Especially with the line being apparently rebuilt to be loaded up for bear!

Broken bones like Romo had are not "breaking down" injuries either.

Aikman showed up in big games, never considered himself bigger than the team, nor would he hold the team back by signing a contract that grossly overpaid. NFL offenses have changed considerably since the early 90s, now it’s a pass happy league. Wonder how many of Dak yards came when game was all but over? Dak hasn’t and never will show up in a playoff game with the stats that resemble his regular season stats.

Contracts were a lot different back especially for QBs. They’re all grossly overpaid these days. Aikman’s contract was big at the time. Dak has put up a lot garbage yards having to play from behind because our defense has sucked in a lot of games. If you’re looking to argue about him find someone else.

Romo had fused vertebrae in his back man and a collar bone that had to be repaired twice or was it three times? Those are things that simply never get back to normal and get worse as one ages and subjects the body to more abuse. Now one could argue that Dak's ankle might never get back to fully normal either and it would be a fair assessment. But you can throw the ball just fine with a bum ankle which Dak demonstrated in his years since coming back from that injury. He can't run the same but he throws it better than ever. He came back fine from the jammed thumb and there is no reason to believe he won't fully recover from the pulled hammie. Any sprinter that ever lived can tell you that once you pull a hammie it is always susceptible to reinjury. But what a runner learns is to heed the warning signs when the body is sending that you are about to pull it again and shut down so you miss a few plays, maybe a few days, but never weeks again. The same cannot be said about a bad back and a bum throwing shoulder. The Cowboys (nor any other team for that matter) could realistically keep Romo from getting hit and maybe reinjuring that back or shoulder. That was the number one reason they stuck with Dak over him despite the fact that at that point in time Romo was hands down the better QB. He just couldn't be counted on. He was 35 but his body was 55.

The real problem Romo had was playing with those broken bones. Playing that hurt gets you more hurt. Dude had some guts.

I CONSTANTLY give Dak credit for playing well enough to let Romo fully heal before he came back in. Then when he does come in...a surgical TD drive like he'd been playing the whole time. Some haters might argue "meaningless" but the guy came in COLD. You HAVE to give him SOME credit.

Then Jerry orders him to sit. wait wut. Why?

A healthy, fresh, veteran Romo...and another career wasted. Jerry is good at THAT, if nothing else.

Absolutely wasted them going all hot and bothered over that hoochie Jessica Simpson. By the time you mentally matured and dumped her, he was already hitting 30 and his body was starting to break down, along with the team. Finished. Wasted chance. What else do you want to know? He wasted his own prime years chasing the Hollywood limelight. I can't forgive him for that. Wish there was another talented Hispanic QB available, but that is not going to happen anytime soon.

As for Dak, he is a hybrid QB who has the tools to be very good (which he has been). He's not the best, but he is definitely top 10 every year and at times top 5. He can always improve on his mistakes and get better (which he has proven he has over time), and he is super dedicated to football (hence the football field in his back yard) and the Dallas Cowboys organization. My only beef with him is his sudden super greediness which has affected the team.
